Hi. I am kinda sneaking in here to the POST surgery forums before my surgery--ssshhhh...don't tell. How long after your surgery were you able to drive short distances?

Um, I was driving the day after I got home. So two days after surgery.

I too drive the day after I came home.

I was driving on my 3rd post op day.

I had surgery on July 9. I stopped taking pain meds on July 11 because I felt I did not need them. I got home on Friday, July 13. I did lots of driving the next day and have driven as I normally would. I do think that most docs say 24 hours after you are off pain meds.

I drove on day 5 or 6 because I was not on pain meds since Day 2
