omg when i saw this post i was like i forgot all about this one. ive been in post op september. i wondered where did all the sept sleevers went. there is a few of us on the other thread. you guys are doing awesome. im one of the slow losers my numbers arent as high as yours but my NSV are off the chain and my inches are whewwwwwwww. nice hearing from you guys.

How do I find that thread?

I was sleeved 9/7/12 along with my husband. I had lost 64 lbs at around 5 months but have since been in a 2 month long stall. I tried everything to bust through it. Yesterday the scale FINALLY started to move again. Yay! It was after increasing my calories (I kept reading about that over and over but it was the last thing I tried, because I was afraid of re-gain...) I started at 293 lbs., BMI of 44.

However, during that stall I went down one full size and 2 belt notches. Since being sleeved we've been on 2 cruises and didn't gain anything on either of them, where prior to this surgery we gained 10-20 lbs every time we'd go on one, and we'd do heavy, unhealthy dieting prior to the cruise and then again afterward. The restriction has been fantastic because it allowed us to nibble at a variety of foods but never overindulge.

I've gone from a size 3X/24 to an XL/18. I have tons more energy. I am able to do my beloved yard work and gardening again. My biggest NSV was on this last cruise when we did a 6-hour excursion that included lots of hiking, climbing, and zip-lining. I would have never even considered trying this prior to surgery. I have had both knees replaced but with the weight loss and increase in muscle tone since the surgery, I was able to do all of this and I was so proud of myself.

My husband has lost nearly 90 lbs. He carried all of his weight in his stomach. He is a hunky stud now!! I'll attempt to get some pictures on here soon. I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Congrats to you & your husband-that is awesome! I know what you mean-I am deathly afraid to increase calories. I started at 276 & I am averaging about 10 lbs a month. I also have been on one cruise since the surgery & didn't gain. I was finally able to zip-line & horseback ride since I was under the weight limit for it. I am going on another cruise in June. Unfortunately, I can't do hiking or climbing as I have rheumatoid arthritis & it is especially bad in my ankles. I have had an ankle fusion on one & an ankle scope on the other. But, I do a lot more walking than I ever have & it feels good. Again congrats to you!!!!

Wow you guys are doing awesome. I am the slowest of the slow hands down. I weighed 230 surgery day and am stuck at 200 since Dec. Havent been on the site much lately, I am kind of giving up.

Jordan-don't give up. First, have you contacted your surgeon or your NUT? Secondly, be honest with yourself-are you eating what you are supposed to be? Are you exercising? Are you writing down what you eat & calculating the protein, carbs, fat & sodium? Do NOT give up-there is a logical reason why you aren't losing. Talk to us, that is what we are here for!

Shewolf yes my problem is not staying on the diet, I am consuming way too many calories, carbs, and sugar. I just don't seem to be able to stop myself. I don't seem to have a full button when it comes to junk food.

Jordan-you have to look at the big picture-the reason why you did this in the 1st place. Keep your eye on the prize, so to speak. It sounds like you may have some issues that you haven't dealt with yet-what about seeing a therapist? Whatever you do, don't give up. YOU are worth this & you have to BELIEVE that. YOU are stronger than any craving you could possibly have!!!!

Shewolf thanks for the pep talk, my medical does not cover a therapist, I am kinda broke as I was self pay on the surgery. May 1st is tomorrow so I will start a new month with a new diet plan.

Jordan-there are places you can go for a sliding scale fee. One place is Catholic Family Services. I used them once before & it only cost me $5 a visit. That is a positive attitude going into May-new month, new plan!!! Again, YOU can do this-you are worth it! Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!!! Good luck & we are here if you need us.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

  • 2 weeks later...

Started at 240, down to 177 now. Wearing size 16 or 18 jeans, size 7 (Large) panties, size Large t-shirt.

I was sleeved on 09/12 lost 100 (including pre-op)...down from size 46 waist to 34/36 2x to large shirts....ton of extra energy and best part..I do not have to carry "sweat rags" anymore...lol...I used to sweat all the time!....now I am freezing all the time...guess the a/c bill will be lower this summer!

I am so happy reading how all of you are doing...

Wallman-how did you lose 100 lbs so quickly? I got sleeved the same day & I have only lost 71.4 lbs? Any tips?
