ABC September Chat

Well ABC (August Band Crew) members we have made it to the end of our banding month. Each and every member has been very supportive during our procedures and the post-op period, but now is when we will REALLY need to lean on each other for support more than ever. Now the real work of working the band begins and I am sure we will all run into a hurdle or two or three (you get the point) along the continued journey. So, here we go!

Please post your short term weight loss goal for October 1st. I think little goals are where we should start for now so we don't get too overwhelmed.

:gluck: and :D to all.

Dr Ortiz gave me a card that states the 9.75cm band holds 4 cc's

You know, it was so early in the morning and I was so nervous, I forgot to ask how much he filled!! ;) I'll have to do that my second fill. I want to know what's happening.

Well, one month out today and down 21 pounds. I haven't lost anything this week though, which is frustrating. But, if I don't lose any next week either, that means I'll be able to get my first fill! My docs policy is you get a fill when you haven't lost anything for 2 weeks. I feel little to no restriction now, so I want a fill.

I get to progress to solids next week and I can't wait!

Hey everyone, I'm having a lot of pain and want to know if its Normal. Well not to be too personal but I havent had my period for almost a year and I had my surgery August 9th and yesterday morning I got my visitor...Lucky me right? Except it is soooo bad I came home from work yesterday and stayed home today. Even though I never got a regular cycle I know menstrual cramps can get bad but this is the worst pain ever and it's hurtin really bad around my port area especially tonight I'm in so much pain I could cry and I don't feel like its just pms pain Is this Normal I took my pain meds that I had left from after the surgery and it's not doing anything The worst is when I move or walk I almost feel like something is tearing inside my stomach??? Any Advice Please!!!!!!!!

Pebbles, you may want to call your gynecologist. I not sure what other advice I could give. I suppose it could be from not having your period for over a year. I'm sure that cold affect you. I think you should call your doctor to be sure. Sorry you're in so much pain.

thanks libra i am gonna call tomorrow if it doesnt get any better

Pebbles, I'd call your gyno and your surgeon, just to be on the safe side. Hope you're feeling better!

Pebbles, do you think you could be pregnant?

Either way, please call you GYN in the morning.

justy def not pregnant lol

yeah im gonna call doc tomorrow but my dr told me my period would prob come after i started losing weight so i didnt want to be so quick to call the dr because i figured it would be bad when i got it because its been so long since i had it i took meds around an hour and half ago and the pain has gotten alot less so i hope it doesnt come back lol but thanks for all the help i appreciate it wasnt sure if anyone else experienced this or not

Hey guys, I have been cheating a little too! I started soft foods last Friday and have lost 5 pounds this week but I'm not eating very healthy again. :) I am working full time, in grad school full time and currently moving! Not much time to prepare food....I've had wendy's baked potato and three chicken nuggets a couple times and taco bell chicken taco a couple times....not very healthy but definatley less than I would have eaten before. Also as of yesterday I have no restriction! I have felt like a bottomless pit! I have been constantly snacking on pretzels to keep full but I;m not even sure I can have them yet. I guess I just need a fill....I go see my Dr monday so I'll talk to him then...

Jeeze Jamie - I am so scared to eat anything - I feel like I'll be eating chicken broth my whole life. The few bites of pea soup and pudding I've had have made me feel sick to my stomach an hour after eating them...maybe it's all in my head?

Jamie, watch the carbs honey. If you're hungry, try and stick to proteins, they'll keep you full longer than carbs anyway. For example, don't eat the potato and eat more chicken, or snack on some nuts instead of pretzels. I noticed as soon as I started going carb crazy again, my weight loss stalled.
