Someone Slap Me, Please - Need Motivation!

Recommended Posts

All right, I'm 6 months post-op and 75 pounds lighter, which is 5 pounds below my goal weight. I'm in a size 4/XS, and I feel fabulous. I work out every day. But the last week has been BAD. I've been BAD. I'm back to my old habits, granted on a much smaller scale.

It started with vacation, which was always a huge trigger for me, a passport to eat whatever I wanted and however much I wanted. The same thing happened this time, except I simply can't binge like I used to, but I can still do a lot of damage snacking and drinkning high-calorie concoctions (coffee drinks, alcohol). The thing is: I KNOW better. I do. I am informed. I GET that what I'm doing is sabotage. My hunger isn't like it used to be either, but the head hunger is rearing itself.

I've gained 3 pounds, which is mostly Water weight, I'm sure, but I need to nip this in the bud NOW. Any words of advice would be much appreciated. I really just need to hear someone tell me to knock it off. I seriously will not forgive myself if I spent so much money and weeks of recovery and not have long-term success. I just can't do this again.

Ok you splurged! Now it's time to get it together! Go buy SF Jello and Popsicles and thing you know you can enjoy and keep them with you and in your room, ask the hotel for a little frig if you don't have one in the room! It might be $25, but it will be worth it! Then remember if your gonna snack chose healthy options! You can do this, you just stay positive! I know it's really hard! Think about what you want to do then plan out your meals around it!

OMG! I just got home from vaca and did the same thing! What's with the "vaca thing" that gives us a free pass to be stupid!!! Right now, I don't feel so good just because of some of the things I"ve eaten. My tummy is a bit rumbly. I leave again in another week for another trip. I better change my evil ways and get back on track.

The first thing you might want to do is detox yourself again. Miss Diva's Boot camp diet will get you back and going in the right direction. Congratulations on the 75 pounds off. That is incredible. You stated that you were 5 below goal? Now is the time to start maintenance part of your journey. We all will eventually add some bad stuff back into our diets. We are human. It's good that you realized that you were going too far and needed to stop this. Just remember, Water and Proteins always come first to keep us healthy. You will get this taken care of.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
