Bubbles After The Sip

Hello everyone... I just had my surgery on Wednesday, June 20th. I am having trouble getting in my liquids.

I take a small sip of a liquid, and about 10 seconds later, I feel a gas bubble surface. This is uncomfortable. It makes me dread drinking.

Will this feeling eventually go away?

Hmm...you're only 4 days out, so it's possible it's residual from surgery. I didn't have that problem, but my guess would be that yes, it will go away in a few days. You may want to call your doc's office just to let them know and see if they have any suggestions.

I was sleeved May 29th. I did get that too for about a week. I think its cause your sleeve and tummy are still swollen so it doesnt have any room yet. Once the swelling goes down it gets easier.

I still have that at 5 weeks out. I burp constantly when I drink. Try taking smaller sips. I have what feels like a huge bubble in my chest after taking bites at times also. My surgeon said its completely normal and will go away although not everyone experienced it.

I was sleeved on June 18th and had a very similar experience! It has since gone away now it only happens if I forget and take a big sip. Give it a few days, but if your not comfortable definitely call your doc. Good luck!
