New Zealand

Any other New Zealanders out there? I have spotted an Australian or two but so far no Kiwis. :-(

Yep Im 44 & 6 foot 2 started my journey June last year BMI 45.7 @ 165kg / 364 lb lost 28.8kg / 63.5 lb before starting preop diet lost a further 10.1kg / 22.3lb on that was sleeved 3rd april and as of today am 108.4kg / 239 lb that's total loss of 56.6kg / 124.8 lb & only .2kg / .44lb from leaving obese & being over weight. Op was @ manukau super clinic everything has gone really well. I did a lot of research before taking this step & believed the more effort I put in the safer the op & better the long term results. Got my 3 month check up wedensday mext week.

Yay another kiwi! Well done to you. I have a colleague that was sleeved at Manukau as part of the Counties Manukau healthcare scheme. I went private at a clinic in Epsom.

I am loving it though struggling with Protein. Without access to all the brands they talk about on here, can I ask what brands you used for protein powders?

hey guys, i am from Auckland, booked in for surgery on July 30th, im excited and nervous at the same time, I will have to do the optifast diet 2-3 weeks before surgery - do you have any tips or things you wished you done before surgery?

Great! Where in Auckland are you having your surgery?

I did Optifast and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I loved the Desserts, which would be my main meal in the evening after a Soup of vegetables and miso. I had miso every day though haven't touched it since the op. I stuck to the pre op diet with an optifast shake for Breakfast, a bar for lunch with a miso and then dinner was veges and more miso made into a soup and followed with the dessert.

Two and half weeks and I lost 11kgs! That is more thN I have lost in the two and half weeks since the op! Not to worry though, I know it will keep on coming off.

Hi I'm also in Auckland. I'm having surgery on October 1. I'm so excited I can hardly wait. This group is amazing because I'm learning about things I never even thought about asking.

Wow that optifast diet sounds awesome, glad you didn't find it too bad, that was one of the things I was dreading, I think I'm having my op at the southern cross hospital over the shore.. Lulu whose doing your op?

I'm seeing Stephanie Ulmer. Has anyone else seen her? I feel very comfortable with her and hope it all goes well.

I had my surgery with Stephanie 3 weeks ago. She is awesome! I have my first post op appointment with her tomorrow.

Thanks for that Louise it makes me feel better knowing that she looked after you and that you're okay. Good luck at your visit. I'm sure you'll rock your sleeve!
