4 Days Out & Freaking Out! Cant Stop Crying!

What in heavens name is happening to me?!?! I am a basket case. I'm unable to make decisions, form complete sentences or find the right words. I'm a blubbering, snotty, emotional basket case. It feels like post partum depression - but I'm still PRE-op!!! I'm sitting in my car right now like a gigantic loser because I couldn't quit crying and snorting in church!!! What is going on with me? Please tell me some of you have gone coo-coo for cocoa puffs just before surgery .... I'm so scared that this is some sort of sign that I shouldn't go through with it - but I want it Soooo bad .... (deep breath). Help!!

  • Remember all of the reasons you need the surgery.

  • My surgery is next Monday, and everyday I am on the Internet looking and before and after pictures envisioning myself not being the biggest person in the room, not afraid to fly on airplanes, not need

Hey gang -

I'm MUCH better today - I guess I just had to get it all out of my system yesterday. I just felt completely overwhelmed. I described it to my husband like "EMOTIONALLY speaking, this feels like deciding to have a baby or deciding to get married - It's for the rest of my life!" The forever factor is just a hard concept to adjust to I suppose. I guess it would be concerning if I DIDN'T take a moment to pause and soak this all in, right??

But - all in all - a much better today : ) Thank you all for the encouragement - so glad to be on this journey with great folks like you!!

Just remember....the benefits out way the risks!

Glad your feeling better hang in there.I have less the 24 hrs to go to my surgery

I can't say more than what has already been said soo... (((HUGS))) You will get through this! I'm warming up your spot on the losers bench :)

I had the same meltdown before I had my kids. Any kind of big change is scary. You can do this!!!!! You will be giving all of us "pre-oppers" pep talks soon.

Hi Estrovan,

I had to visit the Case Manager to get my date. When she said June 18, I became numb. When I went out to the Lobby to fill out more paperwork, I started crying out loud!!!!!!! Full on weeping and tears galore. And when my husband got on the phone it got worse. I couldn't even speak. I was like this for about a week but eventually got over it. Now I am feeling excited and anxious. It will get better, I am sure of it!

Hang in there!

Veronica
