New Kid On The Block

Greetings..... so glad I found your support group. I had a gastric sleeve on 5/4/12, just five days ago. It was a revision from a lap band I had nine years ago. The band worked perfectly at first and I dropped over 100 lbs and acheived a normal BMI, but it started giving me problems about three years ago, due to a doctor overfilling it. I was experiencing horrible reflux and eventually needed a hiatal hernia repair and my esphogus became dialated. Since I had so many problems, I've basically been without a fill for the last three years and...... you guessed it...... I progressively gained most of my weight back.

My doctor recommended I look into a gastric sleeve since the band would no longer work for me. I was a self-pay and eventually choose

Dr. Hector Perez in Cancun. My hubby got a great vacation in Cancun and I got my revision. LOL

Got back yesterday, but I must say it was a horrible trip getting home. I did get a wheelchair at the Cancun airport and the Florida airport so that helped a lot, but the overall day was filled with lots of pain. But, not just from the surgery.... I think from walking hunched over after my surgery, because my stomach hurt, I somehow wrenched my back and now it hurts worse than my stomach LOL leave it to me. Has anyone else done that?

I'm thinking I can't go to a chiropractor because I can't lay on my stomach and don't want anyone jarring me around right after surgery, so I'm hobbling around with a cane..... ugh

Glad to be here and looking forward to "meeting" lots of you.

Hey! Welcome! Well this should be your once and for all fix! The pain will soon be a distant memory. I was sleeved in mid February and I'm just now considering going back to the chiro. Just rest and drink!

Welcome. Take care of yourself and "talk" often!

Cali I would call the chiro anyway. There might be something he can with you sitting down or standing up. All the best to you. Let us know what happens.

Dooter and Besquared...... Thanks for the welcome!

Much appreciated :)

Artsy, thanks for the advice..... my back is much better. I've been sleeping in my hubby's "man chair" (the recliner) and it's done wonders.
