Sharp Stabbing Pains In Left Upper Stomach! !

I'm in the hospital because of pain control. I was wondering if anyone had any pain like this worse the labor pains! They come and go! Maybe the muscle spasm where the cut through? Worse thing about surgery all was perfect until now. My surgery was 3/27!

Never heard that one..... Hope all is well and you recover soon

I hope you find out what is wrong. It's been awhile since your surgery. You would think you had passed the danger zone. Sorry you are having trouble. Seems I read alot about complications lately. Let us know how you are and hope you feel better soon!!

Spasming left flank and abdominal pain is what put me in the hospital last week - turns out I have a blood clot in my portal vein. All that pain? The portal vein normally drains fluids from the intestines, abdomen, spleen and pancreas - since the blood clot is blocking between 60-70% of the vein, the Fluid that can't pass through is backing up into my abdomen and damaging my organs, causing severe pain.

While I was in the hospital, IV push Dilauded was needed to control my pain level...serious heavy stuff. What sorts of diagnostics have they done on you to try to pinpoint the source of the pain? My problem was found through an oral/IV contrast-assisted CT scan.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks for all the prayers! I had a cat scan with oral and IV contrast. I had a abdominal xray and a upper gi like a leak test all came back ok they don't know and my Dr is in Mexico on vacation but will be back tomorrow. They r discharging me with muscle relaxers I don't know what to think or do! U think I should be worried about a blood clot if I had a CT? I hope they didn't over see it!
