Home From Hospital!

I got home and I am really sore but I haven't has any nausea at all. So that's exciting!! It's kind of surreal that Im really here with a gastric sleeve. I've waited e very long time for this. Did anybody else just go through the surgery? I keep sipping on water and broth but I am scared I will over do it so I am taking TINY sips. Any help with that would be great. What else are you guys including on your liquid diet?

Hi everyone! I too was sleeved on Tuesday. Turned to an OPEN surgery so recovery day 1&2 were in ICU, but still came home fri,, and today feeling ,, not to bad. Eating is 1 step at a time Today started w/ a shake(4oz) then soup, pudding , drink, yougart, all 3 hrs apart and all w/ protein powder added. Not expecting to reach 60-80 gm port. For another week or 2. Per my nutritionist Thank god no nausea , since 2 vomiting episodes while still in ICU ( wouldn't wish that pain on the devil)!!!,, And. Cant wait for this drain to come out!

Hope I'm not being too nosy but why did they have to do an open surgery? We're you a revision from Lapland?

No, I had a previous and surgery 15 yrs ago that left behind LOTS of scar tissue, then there was spittle more bleeding then the surgeon was comfortable with,,, so open on order to see :(

Hello everyone, After writing a few days ago that I am tolerating liquids well, now I am experiencing feelings of flushing (for lack of a better word) and slight nasuea. It figures. I actually wrote a separate post to see if others experienced this. My surgeons office said this happens and is normal. Thanks to MGM for the advice about the protein packets. I am definitely going to check that out. I can't imagine ever taking in anough protein at this point in my journey. Hopefully it keeps getting better. But I must only be taking in about 100 to 200 calories a day. Surprised I am still walking around. I guess you can live off your fat. LOL
