Lets Talk About Toots, Shall We?

Oh my Lord, am I really posting questions about passing gas?!? Sorry all!

Sleeved on 4/24. I passed a bit of gas in hospital and next day.....maybe 3 uneventful times. Nothing since. No gas. No BM since last Sunday!!!!

Anyone out there in the same boat!? Have your docs told you anything? Any advice?

I never thought I'd pray to pass gas but my tummy is so distended and uncomfortable.

Thanks for your time xoxoxo

I was sleeved on 4/16/12 and I haven't had gas like this since I was pregnant! I'm pretty sure I brought a tear to my dog's eye. Milk of magnesia has been my savior when it comes to pooping. It's re

My first BM was about a week after surgery, then about 4 days, then about 4 more days, and I haven't had one since. I'm 5 weeks post op. I hadn't really been paying attention and yesterday it just sort of hit me that I hadn't pooped in like 2 weeks. So I called my surgeon's office (they want you to call if it has been over 3 days) and am now on Miralax and Fiber supplement. Luckily I don't have any discomfort or anything, I'm just not going. I had to use Miralax a few times with my lapband and IMO it's the best one of the bunch.

As for gas, virtually none. Maybe once or twice a week.

I am/was in the same boat! I had a BM about 7 days post-op and then this morning- thanks to Benefiber fruit flavored drink mix- I had my 2nd BM. I had the Benefiber last night. You mix it with about 16 oz. of water so in one shot, you get some fiber and water. Not to mention, it is actually tasty (cherry pomegranate is what I got), Hope you get "moving" soon!

She recommended a daily dose of Miralax. It really is flavorless, I add it to Crystal Light and don't taste a thing.

I didn't have BM for 10 days. I finally called the doc and was told to get some fiber to add to my drinks. I do this and it helps. As for passing gas, I found the more I walked, the more gas I passed. Not sure if you're walking or not but it helped me. :)
