  1. I am seriously worried what is going on with me. I am the peacemaker among all who know me. I had my sleeve on 4/24 and I am experiencing serious mood swings. I get very anxious and angry, especially at night. My family is scared of me.....like, literally! I thought it was the Oxy they prescribed for pain. I'd take a little at night to help me with the tenderness of tossing and turning. But I had nightmares so I didn't take it since two nights ago. Also, I feel stupid. I can't process a thought and can't complete a sentence at times. Anyone out there with same symptoms?!?!? Thanks for listening. :-/

    Day 4 Post Op

I highly recommend the Prevacid Solutab. They dissolve easily in your tummy. Works WONDERS. I have acid reflux daily. Mostly at night when I lay in bed. Not good. Be sure to ask for something or at very least, keep a bottle of Pepto in the house.

Usually that's indicative of low potassium.

    Day 4 Post Op

I made myself organic chicken broth, homemade. So much better than canned!
  15. I'm REALLY struggling with this, too! I do tend to go a little easier when I cut up the food into teeny bites. Then I'm more aware that I'm supposed to go slowly. I guess I'm just used to shoveling in mass quantities for the past 40 years.
  16. Oh honey this is SO normal you have no idea. Your body has gone through trauma. Your hormones are releasing St a rapid rate. Your body is starving right now. You're coming out of anestesia for days and days afterward and that takes it's toll. You are learning a whole different lifestyle....and you can no longer soothe yourself with food. I promise you this is going to pass. In two weeks you'll be down probably 20 lbs and you'll feel it and be happy.....then all of a sudden your pants are gonna be loose...and your face will be thinner...an people will notice and your scars will be healing......and you'll see how GREAT this decision really was. Remember.....I said I PROMISE!!! ((((((((hUGS)))))))
  17. I felt exactly the same way. It'll pass. I miss food. I have accepted the fact it is no longer enjoyable for me. Quite frankly, after 5 weeks, eating is a pain in the ass! The major hurdle was for me to realize how often I'd say "I'm so hungry" but my head was saying it, not my stomach. So differentiating the head hunger vs true hunger is tough for a while. Listen, if any of us could handle food properly, non of us would be here. So have patience, it DOES get easier. Just have to learn healthier habits and give your mind and body time to heal/readjust.
  18. A couple of weeks honey. I had the same problem and ended up calling the nurse. She was a bit griff in her response. "do you realize they jammed metal rods through your fat belly?". Geesh! But it did sink in that there was serious trauma done to our abdomen. This too shall pass!
  19. I am SO happy to see this post and look forward to learning from the responses. My date was 4/24 and anything solid I eat feels as if it's stuck for hours. I have ZERO energy. Lightheaded. I tend to just resort to soft refried beans and ensure but really....how long can I live off that?!
  20. Awesome! Hopefully your hubby has forgotten about the beating you gave him back then

    Need Some Help

Oops, I see now your about two weeks post-op. Are you definitely getting enough water? Also, are you sleeping in a different position and maybe you're having muscle spasms? I had to sleep on my opposite side post-op and my body ached here & there. I'd definitely call your doc when office is open and explain to a nurse. One more thing...is your urine clear or dark? Flush those kidneys with lots of water if it's dark.

    Need Some Help

When were you sleeved? I didn't have a BM for at least 8 days. It took about 3 weeks til I got to a point where I was going every few days.
