Feeling Hungry

I'm 2 weeks post op and am feeling hungry a lot now. I know it's not head hunger. Then when I start to eat I hardly can take more than 3 bites. Is this normal at this stage?

You're still going to get feelings of hunger,,when you are actually hungry. The sleeve is working because you were able to only eat a few bites. If you are full and continue to want to eat, that is head hunger. Spread it out and eat small amounts through the day so you don't over stuff your sleeve and you don't stay so hungry. I go through the same thing..some never get hungry..but I spread my meals and snacks out through the day in small amounts and it's really helped me..and I don't feel like food is sitting in my throat.

yes I still get hungry....spread it out is the right thing to do.....and make sure to chew good. good luck!

Hi. I am almost 3 weeks after surgery and I still get hungry. My doctor said its not hunger I am feeling but an empty stomach. He said to take my antiacid twice a day, once in the am and once in the pm. Hope this helps you.

Was he saying the antacid would alleviate that feeling?

I've been taking an antacid in the morning but taking some tums throughout the day helps.

And yes it does make the hungry feeling go away :)
