What was your Bougie Size?

Hello fellow sleevers!!!

My surgery is wednesday! My surgeon said she uses a Bougie size of 36 - 38! I am happy with that! I dont want to be too restricted and risk a stricture, but, I dont want it too big and fail to lose my goal!!!

What size did your surgeons use and how have you progressed through your sleeve journey?

I asked my surgeon and he says he uses a size 40 and I asked why he doesnt use a smaller size and he said that his size 40 patients have less reflux and complaints than the ones who used smaller bougies. He's the surgeon, I'm gonna trust what he says and stick with the 40.

I actually watched someone get sleeved on youtube, I know what the bougie is for but does it stay in or is it just used as a guide then pulled out?

It is a guide that is removed after the sleeve is formed.
