    Am I Eating Too Much?

Hey Ian I think it's best to listen to your sleeve. The most important thing i found at your stage was water intake. When you move on to musshies and solids your fullness will be more pronounced so all i can suggest is eat slooooow. I've made the mistake a few times of forgetting to go slow and i didn't throw up but i had allot of discomfort. What worked for me was myfittnesspal.com and 6-7 small meals a day. Good luck on your journey

    Major fat here
  16. I had severe type 2 diabetes and i was off my meds straight after surgery so I'm glad i did it. The best is not having to check my blood sugar every few hours. I still check it periodically but now I'm down to checking once a month!! So i'd say this was my best choice in life.

    Carbs and lifting weight

Hey peeps I was wondering about muscle building and carbs. The things i know is that muscle cannot be built without carbs for glycogen stores. Im going to be joining the gym end of this month and since i've been on 20-30g of carbs for 3 months my question is, should i up my carbs post work out to build some muscle and have greater lean mass or just keep doing what I'm doing and risk catabolic muscle break down?

    Carbs and lifting weight

Hey guys Thanks so much for the input I think I'm gonna start a 12 week program http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/kris-gethin-12-week-daily-trainer-intro.html and see where that leads me. The way i see it , some complex carbs on weight days and zero carbs on cardio days would probably work out better from a theory stance but i guess ill have to see and experiment to see what works. Right now i've started cardio and boy do my muscles ache. I decided to take a week off from work to start this work out program so the lactic acid and delayed pain subsides and I'm use to it by the time I'm back at work. I also found something interesting on whey vs casien and supplement timings for lifting days here : http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/satternorton.htm I think we all just need to find what works for us. Im about 32 percent body fat and already have a good muscle structure but it's my belief that we lose weight much faster when cycling between low carb with cardio and higher carbs and lifting due to the thermal effect of building muscle and keeping it. Thanks again and i wish you all the best
  19. Yeah creatine is great http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/mp/cee.html thats what i use.

The only things i hate so far....

mnb thanks for the inspiring vote of confidence rootman i know what you mean I'm down to a large and a half lol . The large makes my love handles look like camel humps and the xl makes me look like I'm wearing bat wings so i can't wait to start the gym and see where it takes me. Its a better problem to have than insulin resistance! As for the roller coaster i'll try to enjoy the ride Thanks guys
  21. Hey guys Well it's been an interesting 3 months so far. I've gone from being sad and happy about my surgery like a yoyo and i now feel kinda stable I love that my body is changing i just can't stand the out of proportionis that i feel now I've lost quite a chunk of weight. Let me elaborate. I've lost weight in certain areas of my body where as others are lagging . Like my hips for example. I know its strange for a dude to be talking about this but i can't seem to find clothes that fit just right lol. I know it's only temporary . I even , on my travels , got a pair of trousers for work tailored for me and now they are to big in some areas but not others >< . I know i have to be patient but I'm tired of taking ppi's too lol . i mean if i miss 2 days in a row i wake up feeling like death is at my door Other than that I'm loving the journey and I'm going to begin my gym journey at the end of this month so hopefully i can transform a little faster and better . Anyway as always wishing you all the best

    VSG trouble

Hey Malika I think you answered all your questions by yourself. Number one : take it slow in eating and try and break the habit of eating till you get to the point of absolute full. Number 2: Protein before carbs. What i do is ive got allot of low fat turkey slices in the fridge and low fat cheeses ( swiss or goat) and i drink allot of Water. Refined carbs are what got you here and you have to take a long look at what your goals are and realize that being thin is going to make you happy ultimately. I do believe your stomach can stretch but not in 5 months. Take the 5 day pouch test and that should prove your fine. The basic rule states calories in calories out , but then you have the thermo effect of your body working to break down certain foods like protein , complex carbs . Join myfitnesspal.com and log in all your food and dont cheat. That way you will be able to fight the cravings and rule your own life, I hope this helps you and best of wishes
