Weight gain post surgery

Prior to surgery the doctor had me on a 2-wk partial liquid diet and I lost 10 pounds. Now 5 days post-surgery I am up 13 lbs. Is this normal? Has this happened to any one else?

Yep, you gain a lot of Water weight due to IV and water weight. I lost weight the first week but then I gained pounds back the second week, its really weird. I wouldn't worry too much for the first month because your body goes into shock after the surgery. I am a month out now and am starting to lose good now. Thank goodness!

I gained 14 lbs. from IV fluids. It took 8 days to come off, but when it did, I had a rockin few days of weight loss. Rub some lotion into your poor skin -- it's stretched!!

Yep- completely normal. I gained 15 lbs from being in the hospital on IV's for 4 days. I was so confused why I had gained and not lost. But it does come off farely quickly. Gotta keep telling yourself that :D
