Today was my second day back to work and I am exhausted. I getting all the Proteins and fluids in. I am two weeks post op tomorrow. Should I be worried. Maybe I am trying to hard. I did not have the enegry to walk tonight, I feel like to am cheating my body by not walking. I do walk through out the day at work. My husband thinks I am pushing things too soon. I should just relax. So what he has done is we are going away for Memorial Day, to relax and hang out away from the house. Maybe this will help. I know it is week away I am looking forward to this. Any input on this would be great. I am just the type of person who has a hard tme decompressing. I want to take a hot bath so bad. I guess a few more weeks to Calgon take me away.

PS

I had a coworker today tell me I do not see why you had the surgery, you are so confident in yourself and did not let the weight bother you. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I never realized I covered the pain so well. I told the coworker I did it for my health and so I can be a better person for myself and my family and so they are not worrying all the time. OMG what is next health wise. I hope that was a good answer.

I hear you- I am 8th day and so weak! They do say at least two weeks off so maybe you have pushed yourself a bit.

Are you getting your fluids and Protein? What is the food phase that you are on? I ask that because my doctor started me with three weeks clear fluids plu Protein drinks and when speaking with the dietician today I realized I have had about 4 carbs max a day with all the sugar free stuff, broth, etc. Maybe 400 calories. I am probably weak because I am malnourished!

Don't beat yourself up for not walking. I was too weak to do it yesterday or today.

You are just out of the gate from major surgery and my doctor (GP not surgeon) told me you really ebb and flow with energy for a few weeks.

I'm 3 weeks post op and still battling fatigue. I hear that the energy returns after around a month so I'm hoping to see that. Right now I come home just exhausted from work.

I had my surgery in Mexico on a Tuesday and went back to my office (and my 3 kids, and my one hour commute) on Monday. And it was difficult.

I was exhausted! And I made stupid mistakes at work.

But, we do what we have to do and I don't regret a thing.

Now, 7 months later, I'm hovering near my goal and I still have my job - even after all those mistakes I made.

I'd say skip the exercise for now. Rest when you can and baby your new stomach. It is sensitive right now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
