  1. I was wondering and would love some input. I had my sleeve surgery 5/4/2011. I am down 165 pounds which is great. I am very concerned because I am having so cardio problems. My cardio dr put me on blood pressure medicine this week because my blood pressure was too high. Now for the past year my heart rate has been very low....So I have under the doctors care because of this issue. I am in the gym 4 times a week. It is crazy. My doctor seems to think the electrical signals are getting crossed because the of the weight loss. Has anyone out there heard of this or had similar problems. Any input would be great. I am concerned because even at my heaviest I did not have problems with my blood pressure and now I do....I am so confused....
  2. I am 11 month out and I have lost 140 pounds which I am total excited about. About 2 weeks ago, I started having problems being dizzy. Well the next thing that started to happen I was passing out. Well I went to PCP and he sent me to the emergency room and they rushed me in because my heart rate was in the 30's. This was very scary experience because I never had any cardaic issues. Well they said I having a mild case bradycardia but they wanted to monitor it because I am too young for a pacemaker. Well they sent me packing home after a night in the hospital. Well 2 days later I ended back in the hospital for a week. What they found out was after the tilt table test was my heart thinks I stay weight 400 pounds and f.or some reason my body is not absorbing fluids or salt like it is suppose to. Well now I have turned into a little kid that cannot be alone because I am afraid I am going to fall. I am here pumping fluids and taking medication for being dizzy which takes the edge off. So back to the cardio on Wednesday to see what is nexted. I wanted to post this just in case another sleever is having the same problem. Any feedback would be great. I am a down about this situation

  5. Hi Sleevers, I am six months out and have lost 111 pounds and I have slowed down alot. I am trying to stay positive. In my mind I think every pound I lose is one more day in my life I have worked on so hard on saving. I am feeling great the best I felt in years. Sometimes I get mentally tired because it is a challenge everyday to make the good food choices because of everything that is out there. This week was by birthday and we went out to lunch at my favorite Japanese Restaurant, I order what I wanted to a few bites and I was done. I do deny myself my cravings, I usually take a bite to satisfy the craving then I am done. If you deny yourself it make you crazy. On that note my sleeve is still sensitive so I know what it can tolerate. So I am careful. I want to say this surgery is the best tool out there and I wish I had done it years ago. Congrads to all my fellow sleevers on there great weight loss.
  6. Thank you, I have no secrets just it is coming off. I have slowed down alot. I am glad I am not the only one. I thought I was going nuts...
  7. I am 5 months out from being sleeved and I am down 100 pounds. I am wondering is any out there having problems with their emotions. One minute I am happy & the next minute I am in despair. I am not sure what is going on. Any suggestions......
  8. I just watch it. I cannot believe she actually happy that way. She is covering so deep deep dark issues. She needs some help. In saying that she needs to help herself. She has not hit bottom yet. The problem with that is when she hits bottom it may be too late. I am praying she gets help and wish her and her family the best.
  9. Well today I am 4 months out and down 90 pounds. I never have felt better in my life. I went shopping for new shirts yesterday and I bought X-large. I have cant believe it. It is like a dream. It was the best decision I have ever made. The only thing my sleeve does not like is red meat. I have tried twice and it just does not work. I take things slow when eating. The only thing that bothers me is the top half my body is one size and my bottom is another story. I have always been bottom heavy. I have the mind set I did not gain it over night so I will not lose it over nite. I am attaching before and after pictures. Have a great labor day weekend.
  10. Hi Meggie, Congrads on your weight loss and great vacation. I was sleeved on 5/4 and I have lost 85 pounds. I am so happy it was the best thing that has happen to me since the birth of my daughter and the love of my life walking into my life 10 years ago. I am changing everyday and growing more confidence. My husband had his surgery on 8/10. So we are at different phases but it is working just fine because now he knows what I have been going through. He had a set back this week he has been diagnose with AFIB. He became dehydrated and fell so we had to take hime back to the hospital. He got out yesterday. But I can honestly say if there happen before the sleeve I would have been in there with him. I noticed I can handle things better. Well let me go I can rant and write forever. Thanks for the update and I am so glad you and my fellow sleevers are doing so well. Connie
  11. I understand what you are going through. I did not realize how much snacking goes on at work. Just be strong. I know that is easier said than done. If you need to talk I am email away. Connie
  12. I am a little late posting. I had made my 3 month post op visit on Friday and I am down 80 pounds. I am so excited. Also my husband had is 1 week post op appt and he was down 50 pounds since his journey began. Our life together has start alll over again on a great note. He is a little weak but he been a great patient. I am doing great no hiccups so far. I never been this happy for a long time. Thank you everyone for the support. Will check in soon. Connie
  13. Good Morning Sleevers, I have 2 happy notes this morning. Well first let me say I am sorry that I have not posted in awhile...I have been so busy with work and school. The 1st happy note. I have kissed the 300s good bye. I can actually weigh at the scale at the grocery store. I cried at the store when it happened. I am such a sap..... The 2nd happy note is I have lost 70 pounds since my surgery on the 5/4. The weight loss has slowed down a little. But I am really happy. I am down 2 pant sizes & 3 shirts sizes. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I think I am dreaming. I waited and worked for this surgery for so long I forget sometimes it is reality. On another note, my husband is having surgery on 8/10/11. He is on his liquid diet now. This sure does make things easier on me. I made a big pot of chicken Soup yesterday and while he is on the liquids I bought some lean cusine dinners and yogurt for his journey so I am not cooking all the time. I thought that would make things easier. It is going to be a busy next few weeks. Getting the house back together and preparing for his big day. Since I have already had the surgery it makes it easier to prepare and make him comfortable for when he comes home. There is no guess work this time around and thanks to this forum it was not that bad. Keep our family in your prayers. Have a great Saturday, Connie
  14. Thank you Sandy and Susan I am glad we have the support on this website. I am glad we are doing this journey together.
  15. Good Evening Everyone, Well I am going to have another sleever in the house. My husband got his surgery date for August 10. I am so excited for him. He starts his liquids on July 27. Our journeys are coming together. I was sleeved on May 4 and I am down 65 pounds and I am so excited. Today we went to the pool for his first any many workouts. He is sore from head to toe but he will make it. He has been starting to read the blogs in here so he can be more informed. My husband is not a computer person so we do this together. Please keep him in your prayers during this new process for him. He sees me struggle and he is little worried but I think he will make it. I have extreme confidence in him. Connie
  16. Great article....I think mine is the calorie intake. The dr says 800 to 100 calories...Yeah right tell that to my stomach....I think I am going to boost the excercise to see if that helps. Thank you again
  17. Hi Everyone, The first thing I want to say is everyone is doing so well and I am so proud of everyone. I had my 2 month post op appointment on Friday and I lost 11 pounds in the month of June. Yeah!!!!!! I am at the total of 62 pounds since my journey began in April. I am offically at a stall right now. I have been here for almost 2 weeks. My dr says to reevaluate and see if that works. I hope so. Well now I am on a regular diet except for starches, sugars and caffines. I am okay with that. I am going to boost my excercise routines up a little to see if that helps the stall. Please pray I get over the stall it is making me crazy a little. I want to say I am sorry for not keeping in here. I have been so busy with work and school. It takes so much of my time. I seldom have to myself anymore. Well I wanted to drop in a line to say hello and now back to homework. I can not wait till I finished this degree so I can have my life back. Take Care, Love you all Connie

  20. I am so proud of all you guys progress. I am celebrating 2 months on Monday. I have lost 60 pounds so far. I tried on pair of jean shorts I have not worn them in at least 5 years and they fit perfect. I was so happy. I am swimming and walking. The only I need to start doing is weighs I am noticing some flabby places starting to form. I have given away 3 bags of clothes to a church that sends them to Haiti. I sometimes think I am dreaming. I have had one complication. I had some watermelon and a seed got stock in opening of my colon and it got inflammabled so I was sick for about a week. My surgeron was great about things. I am still on the mushies. I am not sure what is next in the food stage since my surgeron is conservative. So we will see on Friday. The only thing I am craving is a diet soda but I know I cannot have. I am sorry I have not been touch it has been so busy with work and school. I will try to make in more. I know the one thing I need to do is take some pictures I have been so bad about it. Well let me go. Have a great fourth of July weekend.....
  21. Low fat here or reduced calories. I watch my labels closely. I am finding fat free has more calories and carbs then regular food. I hope this helps.
  22. My thoughts and prayers are with you....God Bless......
