The dreaded email

I was going through my email a little while ago and there it was... Time to sell Girl Scout Cookies again.

I am not a sweets person except white wedding cake, Peanut Butter fudge and girl scout cookies. I am on day 5 post op and would kill to chew on anything. Now the thought of girl scout cookies. Ugh

At least they will not be in my house to split up until the end of next month.

I just saw this and I have two daugthers that will be selling them soon. Yikes! I am determined to not eat them this time! They are always a downfall for me, especially the chocolate and peanut butter ones.

oh goodness. my mouth waters just thinking about a thin mint. my co-worker purchased a few boxes from her neighbor's daughter and she bought the Cookies to work angry.gif

I begged people to eat them and take them away haha.

Now a co-worker's son is selling fruit at his school so I'm gonna purchase a box of grapefruits biggrin.gif so much better

Hey Bryn,

How far out do you have to be to eats grapefruits and oranges? I am so wanting some citrus fruit now, couldn't eat it with the band, and my 12 week break i was downing at least 2 a day!

thanks,

patti

This post doesn't belong in this thread......

I didn't know there was a thread police. If you don't have anything nice or constructive to say then keep it to yourself.

First, I didn't say anything "un-nice", Second, it WAS constructive, it was informing you your post was in the wrong spot.....this thread is "Post Op Questions and Answers".

And the most important thing, it's frustrating to open a post thinking it will have something to do with what it says and it has nothing at all to do with that. You were griping about Girl Scout cookies for crying out loud...there is a thread for that, please post accordingly. Don't be so touchy, I was just trying to help.

In case you haven't noticed, this is what we do here. I am not touchy, you are just rude. When you are going through a liquid diet and the head hunger is driving you insane and you try to use humor to get through it, then you can talk to me.

Again, I just kindly ask that you post your posts in the appropriate spot. Some things you have to offer are very valuable, some things are not. I'd like to stick to reading the things that are valuable to me and when you post in the wrong spot it is void of importance. And, you forget, I will be going through the same things you are, but I will still post in the appropriate spot. Take a deep breath, relax.

I will post where ever I feel like posting. This board is for support what ever type of support we need. If you feel that something is invaluable to you then move on like the rest of us do. I do not need you to interject your unnecessary comments. Your opinion Is your opinion, keep it to yourself when it comes to my post.

First off the mention of Girl Scout Cookies immediately pops up the mental picture of the Peanut Butter patties. OMG those things are little slices of heaven lol.

Secondly we all make mistakes where we post stuff. I have a habit of just going down new topics and reading the mens room topics and answering even though by the time I figure out I am in the men's room and they probably really want their fellow sleeve bro's opinions and not mine I have already piped in. No need to get so worked up over it. Give some grace.

thank you lisa bug for ur post!... No body really understands that need to chew on something until you are on the clears or even full liquids! I know its a rough go to get an email about delicious crunchy Cookies when your in that stage post op!... But keep ur head up girl! We all get throug it ;)

btw this was the appropriate spot to post ... Anyway I love this site because of the positiveness and supportiveness... Lets keep it that way!

Does this board not have moderators? Lisabug, you *did* post in the wrong section (Post-op Q&A... where's your question?), and your responses are rude and self-centered (I'll post wherever I want, nevermind the rules!).

You need to learn some message board etiquette. 'The forum' doesn't revolve around you.

Thank you, Bumble...I wasn't trying to be rude, but BOY did I get a spanking for posting what I posted!! I thought the rules of the board state that you post where your topic belongs? I understand making a mistake and maybe saying "Oh, you're right, I'm sorry" but WOW, didn't expect that. It is a board for everybody to learn from, not one person to make up her own rules and think it is her own personal board. I would like to learn from you Lisabug, and help you when you need it, but please, know the etiquette and be a nicer forum member.

You know, it's only appropriate to 'point out' lisabug's ill-placed post if she is a constant abuser of the post-op forum. But no need to jump on anyone's back for a slight error. Is there no room for leniency?

You're being a bully. It might behoove you to return to just 'reading posts' rather than participating if this is the attitude you bring to the community.

Anyway, to keep this post RELEVANT in this post-op section, I understand that the question lisabug might be asking was "Is it normal to feel the need to chew while in the early post-op liquid stages?"

Why yes, i do think it IS normal. Although i am only 6 days post-op, I can say that I have had to take minuscule bites of crumbled things (toast) just to get a 'chew' going. And i am craving gum like there is no tomorrow! aargh. Soon this will all be a distant memory..

Oh, and NO Girl Scout Cookies will enter this house. I just can't pass up the Thin Mints and watching the rest of the family eat them will drive me insane! boo!
