Negativity

How do you deal with negative people about your decision to have the sleeve. I have completed all this STUFF!! lol and studied and gone to meetings and read forums after forums. Book after book. Do they really think they are going to make me change my mind??!!or that I dont know what I am doing?? The thing that is really sad is its my sister. One of the things she also said was every weight loss patient gains their weight back eventually.I guess I sure dont need to use her for my support system. Good thing I have a great husband for that!

I am dealing with some people just like that. I have decided that it is ok for them to not agree with my decision. It is my decision. I have made it. My surgery will be Dec 6th and then all those people can watch me be succesful. I am just trying to go to my husband who supports my decision 100% and have faith in God that this is the right thing for me to do.

only thing you can do is prove them wrong.

much luck to you

I really hate the ones that say I have had family that has weight loss procedures done and they really messed up and died because they couldn't control their eating. What the hell!!! You know I have been doing research on this subject for about 6 months. People got to understand that we as people are all not doomed to failure. I am fully aware that If I don't follow rules of pre op and post op especially. I am opening a really big big can of worms. I know that I probably land myself back in the hosptial with a leak or worse.. I just don't get that people just can't be there for support. I talked with my boss and he told me that I should tell everyone at work. I just don't know if I am comfortable with this.. I just don't want to get back from sugery with a million of questions of people asking me if I am sick or dying..I Think I am going to write a letter the day that I leave and tell everyone at my plant so they will all know what is going on.. I have picked my best friends and I am going to tell them personally. They just don't understand that we don't really want their opinions we just want to be heard and understood.. Nothing more!!!
