I heard that after the surgery you are not allowed to drink from a straw. Is it true? Please say it aint so.:biggrin0: I am a faithful straw drinker and I dont know how I am going to be able to break that habit.

Mine said no straw. It said right after surgery I would be given a straw while in the hospital (which I wasn't) but then no straw. I have forgot a few times and drank from a straw and had no trouble. I have a doctor appt. on Monday and I'm going to ask my doctor why?

They make to big a deal about the straws. If you don't have a problem sucking in alot of air, then you should be fine. They got me paranoid over it, and finally I tested it, and I was fine. If you get air bubble problems, don't use, otherwise you should be fine. Best, L

I use straws no problem. Just use caution until you find if it works for you.

I drink straws all the time. I am fine! I dont believe they give you more air. I can drink more WITH a straw!!

I know for me personally it would make those yucky protein shakes go down alot smoother with a straw. I may try using one today, and see what happens.
