  1. OMG. That is totally awesome. I don't want to be like Mike, I want to be like you. Your my inspiration that with hard work and dedication a size 0 is attainable. You rock those jeans until the buttons fall off. You go girl!!!
  2. My favorite is the Nectar Strawberry Mousse. I blend it with No Sugar Added Almond Milk 1 cup and 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries and half a banana. It's a super yummy breakfast with over 25 grams of protein. Jenn
  3. OMG!!! You look amazing. You have done a awesome job. You have been my inspiration since I got sleeved on January 17th of this year. I hope that you are super proud of yourself. Jen

    Weight Watchers

I think it's a great idea. I have been going to WW meetings since before I had my surgery and I just made goal 2 weeks ago. The meeting are very informative and having the support is awesome. Plus you will be helping to motivate your friend. As for the money, your saving so much since you eat less now that the few dollars per week for the meeting won't really be a big deal. I say go for it and you won't regret it. Jen

    major nsv- half marathon

That's amazing. Such a great accomplishment. I did my first half marathon October 9th in Long Beach CA in 2 hours 25 minutes. I felt so proud and that was my greatest NSV since have been sleeved (01-17-11). Are u thinking of doing a full marathon?
  6. Hello All. I am doing the happy dance. :bananapowerslide: I made it to my original goal of 159 but see is believing so I had to take a picture. I was so in shock that I got on and off the scale 3 times this morning and each time it was 159. Yeah baby. I have never had so much joy getting to 159pounds ever. I wasnt starving myself or depriving myself of all of my favorite food and I have even found an exercise that I love running. I achieved my 2 goals for this year in the same week. I ran my first half marathon on Sunday and got down to my goal weight this morning Tuesday. My next goal is 155 pounds which I hope to meet by my birthday November 23 and my next goal weight 149 before year end and my ultimate goal weight 145 by my 1 year anniversary 1-17-12. I  my sleeve. :clap2: Thanks, Jenn
  7. Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! I made it to goal 159. Doing the Happy Dance.

  8. Hello All, I had my vsg done on 01-17-11 so a mere 9 months ago and my new years resolution at the beginning of this year was to complete a half marathon. Yes running 13.1 miles on purpose is my goal for 2011. Well its official i finish my first half marathon today in Long Beach California. My official time was 2:25:35 which is a 11:07 average minute mile. My goal was to be under 2:30 and I made it with over 4 minutes to spare. I have always been envious of runners and my entire life I have wanted to be one. Never in my wildest bdream would I ever imagine that I would be running marathons (or should I say half marathons). I have never been this proud of my self ever and now I know that I am unstoppable once I put my mind to something. My next goal is getting to my personal goal weight which is 149 which is only about 11-12 pounds away, I am hoping to hit before my 1 year anniversary on January 17th. After that I want to conquer a full marathon which is 26.2 miles, I am thinking of Maui Hawaii in September 2012. If I believe it and I can see it then I can do it. I attached a couple of pictures from today. Thanks, Jenn
  9. OMG. You look awesome. That dress looks amazing on you, it's very flattering on your body. Great job.
  10. On Clound 9, I finished my first Half Marathon today Sunday October 9, 2011 in 2 hours and 25 minutes.

    getting motivated

My suggestion is find an activity you like to do. I started out doing work out videos at home because I was too embarrassed to go to the gym.

    7 Months out 155

Dang girl you look amazing. I love your whole outfit from head to toe. You have great fashion style. I want to look like that when I get to goal which is just a few more pounds away but I an thinking of lowering it to 155 or 150.
  13. OMG!!! You look absolutely amazing. I love that dress, its exactly like my goal dress that I am planning to wear at my companys christmas party in December.
  14. I have always hated taking pictures so I dont have too many before pictures. I was looking through my husbands phone and ran across this picture from December 2010 which was a few weeks before my surgery so I has to do a before and the after photo was taken about 3 weeks ago. Its weird cause every one says how skinny I am and I dont see it. I know that I have lost weight since the scale and clothes tell me. I can only see the difference when I look at old photos and new photos of myself. I am only 2 pound from goal so I will have to post new pictures when that day comes.
  15. Congrats!!!!!! That must be an amazing feeling to have made it to goal. I am only 2 pound away from goal myself and I can not wait to be in your shoes.
  16. This is fun. When bras from Walmart actually fit well.

    Exercise question

Those first couple of weeks I didn't exercise either. I started out slowly adding exercise about week 3. I was tired but I knew I needed to exercise so I just did it. Don't give your self an option, make exercise mandatory like showering. It's just something you gotta do and if you find something you like doing then it won't seem so bad. I have fallen in love with running but I mix my workout up with spinning, Zumba, DVD's, running and lifting weights.
  19. Thanks guys. I really appreciate all of the compliments. It has taken a lot of work and I couldn't have gotten here without my sleeve. Since getting the sleeve I have finally been able to become the person that I have always wanted to be a runner. I would say runner is the reason why I have been so successful with my weight loss. I run 4-5 days a week ranging from 4-7 miles. Since January 1st I have run 10 5K's and 3 10K's. I will run my first half marathon on October 9th in Long Beach and I am planning to run the LA Marathon in March 2012.
  20. I picked my goal weight based on my BMI and the highest weight to be in a healthy weight based on BMI is 159.9 pounds since I am 5'7". My doctor wants my body fat under 30% and I was at 33% when I weighted 178 pounds so I am hoping to be under 30% when I have my next follow up appointment on Sept 16th. My personal goal is 149 because I have always wanted to weight less than 150 pounds and I know that should put me at a solid size 6.
  21. I can see it, I canm smell it and I can almost taste it. Only 1.9# until I am at goal. Yeah, boy!!!!!!!!

  22. Surgery date January 17th starting weight 249.8 today's weight 168.6 Total weight loss 81.2 Almost 7 months post-op Pounds to goal 9
  23. I am hoping to meet with my surgeon at the end of this week or beginning or next week. What questions should I ask him during the appointment? All sugeestions appreciated and welcomed. Thanks in advance. Jenn
  24. Hello Everyone, I have been looking for a ready to drink protiein shake that I can have for lunch and may be sometimes for breakfast on the weekends. I have tried Muscle Milk, Muscle Milk Light, EAS, Premier Protein, Synthia-6 and Atkins ready to drink protien shakes. I dont like any of them so I just happened come across an add for these Slim Fast Low Carb drinks which come in chcololate and vanilla flavors. When I was doing my 2 week pre-op diet, I was allowed the Slim Fast Optima drinks and I really enjoyed the taste but they have way too many carbs for post-op. I have not found them anywhere is the stores in Bakersfield, CA so I will have to order them online in bulk; you get 6 boxes of 6 cans for about $40. I dont want to waste $40 if they taste horrible. The nutritional value is listed below and I think that it will fit into my diet perfectly. Please all comments and opinions welcome. 25. Hello, My daughter plays softball and every game I see tons of people eating sunflower seeds and now I have a huge craving for them. Are sunflower seeds bad to eat with the sleeve? All opinions welcome. Thanks, Jennifer
