One Month PostOp...

Been reading everyone since Fall 09 but waited to post to see how it all played out. 1 mo postop; sleeve on Jan 8, 2010 in San Antonio, TX. In hospital for 4 days, tough recovery early on but soreness 100% gone by week 4. Lost 26 lbs w/o exercise that first month. Just hit first stall so riding my recumbant bike for 30 mins every am. Water intake ok but hard to down so much solid Protein (never thought I'd say THAT!)... Am I crazy for ordering size 16, 14 & even 12 clothes??? :001_tongue:

Laurel, congratulations on your successful first month. Welcome to the VSG family!

Congratulations on your accomplishments thus far - way to go!!!!

As far as clothes, we all need things to wear and I've found that looking dumpy in big clothes doesn't motivate me very much. I talked to a girl who had the sleeve done 8 months ago. She said that she purchased mix and match items (pants, skirts, blouses that can be worn with either) in the next size down & then changed up her outfits from there. Another good option is a thrift store. You can find some unbelievable deals. Happy Shopping!

Welcome to VST! You are not crazy at all. Shopping is one thing I replaced eating with. I loved buying "goal" outfits along the way and wearing them kept me super motivated throughout the process. Just be careful about how much you buy. I didn't realize how quickly you can outgrow (undergrow?) clothes the smaller you become and now I'm down to the minimum for a wardrobe (that fits without me looking dumpy) when I could have saved quite a bit of money on the larger sizes to spend now.

Good luck and keep us updated on how you're doing!
