Not losing weight

Hello all! I was banded on June 24th of this year. Pre-surgery I was 217lbs and 5'8". To date, which is 3 months later I have only lost 7lbs. I have 3.5 cc in my band. I am eating totally different than I ever have in my life(much less and high in protein) and exercising but I am really starting to think this is a failure. I have read through a lot of people's stories and everyone reports weight loss in the beginning and then it slows down. I am not losing this is heart breaking for me. Will the weight loss eventually take place?

Weight loss comes down to simple math. When you burn more calories than you consume, you lose weight. It's great you're exercising and eating less but unfortunately less food doesn't necessarily mean less calories.

If I were you, I'd start tracking your calories so you're sure to not accidentally consume too many.

Best wishes

I lost 12 lbs the fist 2 weeks and then nothing the next 3.5 months so I understand the frustration. What really got me losing was my 3rd fill and a consult with my nutritionist. She pointed out where I could eliminate about 300 calories a day and the 3rd fill was the moment I started to feel the satiety so many spoke of. Also, it was late March so my exercise program(biking) also contributed to burning more calories.

Visit with your nutritionist/dietician would be my suggestion.

How many calories are you eating. Give us a days worth of food that you eat. You may be eating too many calories or not enough. We cant give advice if you don't tell us what it is that you are eating.
