NEWLY BANDED 9/13/13!

  • Popular Post

Hello everyone! I was just banded yesterday 09/13/13! Im so happy and excited about my new future. I must say that this website has been a god sent for me because i went into surgery knowing what to expect due to everyone's previous posts! I have to admit that I was very very scared because id never been under before. They did have a problem getting my iv in, but after that everything was ok. After the surgery, I was on a cpap machine because i have severe sleep apnea which i found out the night before my surgery at my sleep study. Yes I said the night before! lol My surgeon ordered it at the last minute. At first i was angry but im glad that i did it. The shoulder and chest pain were pretty bad at first because of the hernia repair and the gas x and walking have been a great help as well. I did have horrible leg cramps afterwards but the nurse gave me a muscle relaxer via iv which worked immediately thank god!!Im now ready to see what the future holds!

Thank you Debbie

Hi Debbie,

Don't be afraid, you have to start somewhere. Remember to talk little sips though. Also, I find walking after helps move it around.

I was banded to on 9/13/13. drink little sips it will be good. day 3 I had some yogurt this morning and it went down fine. Take time to heal. Walking has helped!.

I was banded on 9/13 also. Had a bit of trouble - hope I'm over the hump ! Hope you both are doing well!

I feel great, learning to eat slow has been difficult. I've been using 'eat slow' app which is awesome. But, my port site is super sore. I can hardly bend. Any of you having the same?

welcome to your new life. im almost a year out and feel FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

Noticed a little puss coming from a couple of my incisions, the doc is putting me on an antibiotic. A little freaked.

I was banded on 9/13 too. Hope y'all are doing better! I still get a little tired, but my incisions are healing. Still learning to eat - my hardest thing is not eating & drinking at the same time - trying to get myself on a schedule. I've been doing good - it's just hard to remember.;)

update: I have no idea where my port is....my hunger has come back full force andddd I find that I still have some restriction. My Dr's office said that im probably still swollen.

What are you guys eating now?

I'm on mushy food for 2 more days. Today for breakfast I had a pkg of plain oatmeal, then about 2-1/2 hours later I had a little pkg of hummus then a couple of hours after that I had a cup of split pea soup, then I had a sugar free fat free pudding, then for supper tuna with a little light mayo - total of about 750 calories day. I eat just a little several times a day. I use the "my fitness pal" to figure out my protein and calories. My doctor gave me a sample menu and I'm trying to stick to it.
