HMR 800 Liquid Diet

Recommended Posts

Hi there, my Lapband program requires a two-week pre-op diet and they provide HMR 800 shakes. Has any one tried these? http://www.hmrprogram.com/index.cfm/HMRFoods/HMRShakes/HMR_800_Shake

I'm not sure what the requirements are -- i.e. use only these shakes, or liquid diet of your choice and here are the shakes we recommend.......not crazy about some of the ingredients: dairy and soy-based but then there's Maltodextrin, Asparateme, Phenylalanine......I think I'd be happier on a juice fast.

I don't like the sound of those ingredients at all! Do you have to take that? Muscle Milk was perfect for me, it has a great taste, many varieties and it worked wonders on helping me to lose, reducing my blood sugar and giving me energy. They have so many varieties it's hard to get bored with it and you can do so much with them. For instance: Cake Batter flavor tastes just like yellow cake mix - I use to love licking the bowl and beaters when my mom made cakes as a kid. So I mix the Muscle Milk to that consistency and eat it like I was that little 6 year old on the stool in the kitchen while mom baked. Ahhhhh, it feels a bit nostaligic to say the least.

Thanks for that! Writing down all of these tips in my LB notebook. I don't know yet whether I HAVE to take this particular brand but it's what the nutritionist hands you at the hospital as part of the program. I mentioned liver cleansing in advance of the liquid diet just to have a really happy liver for them and the program coordinator said that liver cleanses do nothing. Well, I think lemon Water and grapefruit juice, etc. is a lot better for you than Maltodextrin, Asparateme, Phenylalanine. Just saying......

Hmmm.... I've never heard of that product but I use whey Protein. It comes in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. I mix mine with ice, yogurt, and 8 oz of fruit juice and it makes a nice shake like ice cream. It is totally feeling.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
