Ok so I went to my consultation and I literally felt like I was on a job interview. I am sure thus is just the way I perceived it. I was nervous for some reason but glad it went quick. I was happy to weigh in 6 pounds less than i did 3 weeks ago. Anyway they are faxinh pre op authorization request to my dr. My goal is to have surgery approved by the end of July.

Has anyone here had to drive themselves to the hospital and back home?

I don't think you can do that because you're out under general anesthesia which makes most people relatively groggy. You may could drive yourself to the hospital, but very seriously doubt they'd let you leave alone.

You will not be allowed to drive home, you will be on pain meds. You are not allowed to drive until you stop taking your pain meds. I drove 2 days later, because i had to, and it was hard i held a pillow over my tummy, then as soon as i got home from the store i took my pain meds. It was tough but i got threw it

July 24th if everything goes well with my EGD on the 16th. Day 2 of pre-op diet. Finally was able to blend a Protein drink I could finish tonight. Not a fan of the protein shake situation. Lol

Hello everyone! Today is day one of my clear liquids pre op. I have to be at hospital at 5:30 am on Tueday. My pantry is stalked and my bag is packed. Now i just have to keep busy so i dont think about food. I did notice that i get full quickly since going through the two weeks of protein shakes. I have lost about ten pounds so far. Today i want to take my measurements to record the progress. I will definately continue to post before and after surgery.

Day 2 post op. I cried most of the first day because they kept saying that they were giving pain medication....but yet the pain was still there. Aparently they repaired a hernia i knew nothing about and that added to the pain. No gas pain in shoulder or anywhere else..just a little insician pain and stomach area pain. Once they finally gave me morphin i could sleep. Today is better than yesterday though and despite the pain....i was able to walk 3 times in the hallway and drink a fair amount of liquids. Glad this part is over.
