There is a book on Amazon called Bariatric Foodie protein shakes. Its a small cookbook of only protein shakes..this morning i made a Peanut Brittle shake with 1 scoop vanilla protein, soy milk, powdered peanuts , sugar free caramel syrup..um um good!

I tried Mashed potatoes but after I ate them I was I pain and I have not had a fill yet is that normal? And I will try the Protein shakes:))

I was STARving!!!! This weekend & my body began shaking. So I pulled a Cuban (that means do what my 105 yr old grandmother would do) I made a very light split pea Soup. Omg, that was the trick.

I called the dr's office & explained my weekend she said that was I drinking my 50 grams of Protein. I thought I was only allowed 1 shake, nope, it was supposed to be 2 or 3. Duh,,, any way split pea is filled with Iron & protein.

So happy now. Not hungry.

Good luck

I finally set in to Premier Protein chocolate shakes. Same calories a the Atkins I was drinking with half the fat and DOUBLE the protein - 30 g. They are actually pretty good. Also, I find the shakes so much more enjoyable if they are very, very, very cold. Them serve over crushed ice.

When I couldn't handle any more broth, I went to Chik Fil A and ordered a soup and asked them to scoop me as much liquid as they could. It was SOOO much better than canned broth and I just didn't eat the noodles or carrots. It was awesome.

Also - sugar free Jello and Popsicles were my best friends!!!!

Good luck. You can do it. Work on a hobby or start a new one to distract the time.

Love the Premier shakes especially with the crushed ice.

I'm on regular food but after a fill those shakes are great!

I know everyone will chime in with what they're allowed to eat on their diets, but please remember to follow the instructions outlined by your surgeon/nutritionist. I have seen widely varied post-op diets in my time here, some ranging from back to normal foods in less than a week to liquids for 6- each doctor has a set program that works for them and it really behooves you to do exactly as your doctor has outlined because that is what has proven successful for them.

When I was on it I lived of slim fast shakes, cup a soups and fresh orange and water. Now on soft foods but i feel hungry a lot :-( can't wait for my fill!! X

I'm 4 days out! And the gas pain in my chest and back are horrible.. Is this normal

Yes!! So normal, or at least for me! I'm 5 days post op and am still having a difficult time taking big breaths. But it does seem to get better everyday! Walking really really does help! And Gas-x will do you wonders! Try that!

Where do you get the True Results or Labrada protein shakes? I can't find any I like.

We have a place here in Houston called nutrition depot that sells the Labrada brand . If u search for a true results office In your area I'm sure they will have it .

I'm in the same boat. I can have cream soups but strained, yogurt but no fruit at the bottom, sugar free jello. I'm sick of liquids!!! I'm a week post op today. I don't move up to solids until 7/17. I'm hungry!!! My brain is working over time thinking of everything I want to eat. The food commercials aren't helping. I emailed my nutritionist today asking for suggestions. I'll let you know.

I'm so moody ! I thought it was just me with the good commercials! It's nothing but the grace of God that will keep me strong ...the cream of chicken really satisfied me .
