Surgery June 11th!!

I've been struggling with my weight for my whole life but, five years ago my dad passed away when I was 15 and my weight has reached it's highest. When i was

17 I started the process of getting the band , but my insurance stopped when I turned 18 and I wasn't unable to finish the process. So 2 years later, I simply asked my grandparents could they pay for me to get the lap band, and with no hesitation they said yes. I went for a consultation and set my surgery.

I'm super excited about being banded in less than

a week.I'm on a 14 day liquid diet the first week was so hard. I wasn't used to the taste of the Protein shakes and had to really get used to it.

Now that I've got used to the taste, it has been much easier. I lost 10 pounds in 5 days and that definitely has given me a push to realize

that the hard work has been paying off. I read a lot of posts on here daily and it has surely been a motivation. Therefore, I will be tracking my

journey on here and sharing my experiences with the lap band.

I'm July 11!!!! We need to keep up with one another. This is a journey I've been waiting for for about 10 years!!!

Good luck ladies! My surgery was 10/6/10 and its definitely a long haul but worth it. It was the first my very first surgery EVER! Talk about scared and nervous! But came home same day and walked one mile the very next morning!! You will all do very well. Just remember its not an answer to all, it's a tool.

Thank you! Wow, a mile?!?! I pray that I will be able to do the same. I think the liver thing just is really messing with my head right now.
