I've been struggling with my weight for my whole life but, five years ago my dad passed away when I was 15 and my weight has reached it's highest. When i was
17 I started the process of getting the band , but my insurance stopped when I turned 18 and I wasn't unable to finish the process. So 2 years later, I simply asked my grandparents could they pay for me to get the lap band, and with no hesitation they said yes. I went for a consultation and set my surgery.
I'm super excited about being banded in less than
a week.I'm on a 14 day liquid diet the first week was so hard. I wasn't used to the taste of the Protein shakes and had to really get used to it.
Now that I've got used to the taste, it has been much easier. I lost 10 pounds in 5 days and that definitely has given me a push to realize
that the hard work has been paying off. I read a lot of posts on here daily and it has surely been a motivation. Therefore, I will be tracking my
journey on here and sharing my experiences with the lap band.
