Where did you weight come off first?

Recommended Posts

I have huge arms that have plagued me my entire life. I'm worried that not even the band is going to get rid of them. Where did you start to lose your weight first? If you had huge arms, how long did it take for them to start to decrease? Are they a normal size now?

Date you were banded:

Weight before:

Current Weight:

My surgery is in 2 days and I'm trying to think of all of the questions I haven't asked already or have been able to find the answers to in this forum already.

Thanks in advance!

GG

I'd say the weight definitely came off my upper body first. My face was the first noticeable place.

My arms have decreased a lot, however because they were so big I do have considerable excess skin on them. Honestly, I'm fine with that though. Skin I can easily hide with clothes but there's no hiding fat. I'll take the excess skin over the fat any day.

Best wishes.

I as banded June 22, 2012 and have lost 60 lbs. In my opinon I had boeing 737 wings, I still have wings, but they are smaller. You can't ever totally get rid of them with out sugery, but most people do get smaller there.

For me my weight came off evenly all over. I first noticed it though in my face and neck.

Everyone is different as to when and how their weight comes off, so try not to compare yourself. Realize that if you weight goes up right after surgery- you may have Fluid build up. Follow the doctors orders to a T, and you will be fine. If you have questions CALL the doc, they are the specialist who knows you best.

Good luck!!

I love what you call your bat wings! That one is great. Thanks, I needed a good laugh today.

I always had skinny legs, but I carry my weight on my upper body... I hear that is the worst place to carry weight :(

I've lost about 55 pounds, and the weight is coming off of my waist and upper body. I'm getting back into my old 4X clothes, and the 6X pants are going into storage--forever I hope!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I hit a plateau over the past two weeks. If it doesn't break I'll elect for another fill next month.

The first place I lost weight was in my face. I'm still pretty bottom heavy and have started to see saggy skin after losing 67 lbs. but I noticed the other day that my behind has absolutely gotten smaller and my boobies have literally deflated. I was starting to overflow in a D cup and now I fit easily into a C cup. I can clearly see my collar bones again and while I still have a double chin, it's considerably smaller.

Not sure how old you are but I am soon to be 55 and I know and accept that after two children and yo yo-ing as much as 80 lbs up and down, I look better in clothes than out of them....which is OK with me. I'm on this journey to get healthier, not prettier.

I'm six weeks in, noticed it in my face first. Then my chest, the one part of my body I was ok with!

I recommend before surgery taking measurments. I remeasured last night and was surprised to see I am down 25 inches total since surgery. My arms though appear a little thinner to me, measured the same. The scale may not move very much, but the measurements reaffirm that you are losing!

Oh my goodness, my boobs, halelujah! Actually all over really, like you I had and still have huge arms, although I've lost 68 lbs my arms are smaller but I have skin, they are still big but I'm exercising now so hopefully I can tighten them somewhat. My face, my belly, my hips, my legs, heck even my feet shrunk.

My face and fat ass were the 2 places I noticed first. My ass could hold a serving platter for 50!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
