Calories during puree stage

I was wondering if there's a target caloric intake while on the puree stage of the diet? Im only getting about 300 per day, this is day 4. Im only eating food 3x a day like a yogurt for breakfast, refried beans for lunch and mashed potatos for dinner. No more than 1/2 c for each meal. Does this sound right?

Sounds similar to what my doctor explained but he wants me to be having 2 protein shakes as well to make sure I'm getting enough calories and nutrients

Not really. At purée stage even if you keep track of calories it will not add up to much in my experience. That is assuming, of course, that you are avoiding sugars and fats like ice cream and such!!

Yes in addition I typically have 2 protein shakes and for 8 oz they have 100 cal and 25 g protein. But even with those the food im eating at 1/2 c portions dont exceed 100 cal each.
