  1. Sounds similar to what my doctor explained but he wants me to be having 2 protein shakes as well to make sure I'm getting enough calories and nutrients
  2. I went back today and surgery was last Wednesday. I am also a teacher and commute 52 miles (about 4 hours daily) and I found sitting to be the most painful because of pressure on incisions. I also can't take the pain meds because of a reaction so m only taking Tylenol. It's definitely doable but don't try to be a hero- if you end up needing an extra day or so take it! Good luck!
  3. Hello all, I was banded last Wednesday May 29th. I was put on pureed foods and guess I am tolerating it ok. My question is does anyone else who was recently banded still have major pain? I have pain above my incisions between/under my breasts. I have been walking since the moment and taking gas-x so I don't think it's gas pains. Wearing a bra or sitting up where there's pressure on that area (like driving) is torturous. Does this pain sound familiar to others? I'm reaching out because I called the doctor on Friday on a medication issue and they never called me back so I don't want all my eggs in that basket. Thoughts? Thanks!
  4. HelloGoodbye we might go to the same practice. I'm on Long Island.
  5. I am scheduled for 5/29. I've had to do a 2 week, pre-op liquid diet. I was told as soon as I come home (and for a month from there) will be on puréed foods. I'm looking forward to it because I am so tired of protein shakes and jello! I need new flavors!

  7. My surgery is May 29th. I am required to do a 2 week liquid diet as prep. I'm on day 2 and I'm having such a hard time. Anybody else have to do a prep or currently doing their liquid diet?

  10. I was just scheduled for May 29th in NY. My pre-op diets starts in a week. I'm most concerned about my mood (I teach high schoolers all day and they're tough now lol) and being hungry during the liquid phase. I was hoping for a quicker recovery with the single incision procedure but because of my BMI and torso length the doc said it has to be the 5 incision. UGH. My nerves are starting to come out....anyone else scheduled for the end of May?
