From what I understand if your bmi is 40 or higher you should be approved.. but, the guidelines have changed for lapband so I'm not positive... your Dr's office should know .. My Surgeon's office told

Every insurance company has their own set of rules. Many don't require a comorbidity if your BMI is over 40. Hopefully yours is one.

I'm pre-op just went to my consultation this week, but as of now i don't have a comorbidity. I'm concerned that i can't get the surgery. My tests results have been forwarded to the predetermination department for preapproval. Has anyone heard of this. My bmi is high but that's all.
