post-op day four

Day is day four. I am feeling a lot better. Gas seems to be subsiding and I am feeling better. I am feeling slightly overwhelmed right now. I am trying to eat every two three hours. 2-3oz. I am really not sure how much I am supposed to be consuming. I feel like I am struggling. My family eats pretty much whatever they want when they want and it hasn't bothered me until today. They only thing I really want is some mashed potatoes. Help. I need some encouragement

Try drinking 2-3 ounces of your protein every hour, and in between drink hydrating fluids. That way it is not so long until the next shot of protein!

I am sure you heard the phrase "Bandster Hell"? Yup....your feeling it. My hunger came back with a vengence about Day 4. It takes alot of patience and "want power". This is NOT an easy time. Drink as much Fluid as you can.....come here and blog....try and distract yourself. If you have additional questions on how much and what you should be eating/drinking during this phase...call your doctor.

Good luck...take some deep breaths! Congrats on feeling better after surgery!
