April 21, 201313 yr It does not hurt at all. If you are afraid of needles, as I am, do NOT look. Other wise it is less irritation than a flu shot and your in and out in less than 3 minutes. It really is no big deal:)
April 21, 201313 yr Really don't look at the needle but my Surgeon always says a stick & burn and I really don't feel it but I am terrified of needles so even if I get a blood test I have to turn my head and close my eyes lol so it only hurts a bit but hopefully the person that does your fills know what their ding my Surgeon only messed up once and I told him abut it and Reminded him the next time so no worries.
April 21, 201313 yr I'm scared too, I have my first fill this week. I had 2 amino tests when I was pregnant and it was horrible! I felt the needle pierce through my skin and it hurt so bad! How long is the needle In for? I'm nit squeamish about getting shots or blood tests normally but this terrifies me for some reason.
April 21, 201313 yr My doctor does not use anything before filling. I barely feel it. Just don't look at the needle. You will be fine.
April 25, 201313 yr Had my first fill Tuesday - i was also very nervous about the pain - and believe me when I saw the needle it did not make me feel better - Nurse asked if I would like some freezing - I said hell yes..lol Very small prick with freezing needle then no pain but was glad I got the freezing as she did "dig" around as apparently my port is a little on the side? Anyway did my 24 hrs liquid 24 mushy and planning a "regular" supper tonight. Good Luck!
April 26, 201313 yr Doesn't hurt at all!!! It takes 2 or 3 mins (and i may be stretching that) and your done, it takes me longer to walk from the parking lot and up to his office then it takes to get a fill. I feel nothing.
April 26, 201313 yr OK...I had my first feel yesterday and i was very nervous..so nervous in fact that i locked my keys in my car because i was so scattered! Anyway, My doctor couldnt find the port with a small needle. The initial first stick was painless, but him trying to find the port was... They got a larger needle and it was over and painless once again..I am not trying to scare you..But i read this topic before i went and was expecting an in an out procedure with no pain. Just saying this could happen, but the doctor did say once i lost more weight, it would be not trouble finding the port and that wouldnt happen again. Good Luck!
I haven't had my first fill yet and am nervous of it hurting
