I've been banded for two weeks. I take about 8 pills a day. Most of my pills need to be cut in half now and it feels so heavy on my stomach. Will taking pills get easier as I go?

I was told no pills. I take liquids and chewables only. Better check with your doctor.

I also space out my pills. I find if I take them one immediately after another I also get a heavy feeling. Just a minute or two between them seems to do the trick.

And btw, not all surgeons say no pills. I was just sent home from the hospital with pain killers in pill form- by my bariatric surgeon.

I was told by surgeon that any the size of an aspirin would be ok.

That is what my doc says also. :)

I also had plication who I think made my stomach more sensitive due to swelling. Ya my doctor said just cut them and I've been fine. No "stuck" feeling or anything.

I had no trouble swallowing pills until I hit my green zone/sweet spot- luckily, since the band, I got to delete most of my pills!! But the vitamins and calcium are just too big now, so I found a small round vitamin (generic brand at Safeway) and I get chewable calcium at Costco.
