Hey, I'm one week post op and I wanted to know how long most people took to get back in a work out routine. Was working out 3 to 4 times a week preop.....

My doctor wanted me to wait until at least my 4 week appointment so he can make sure everything was healing right

Get back in a work out routine? The means I would have had one.... Wich I didn't or I wouldn't have been fat. LOL

sorry that just struck me funny. ;)

In any case my dr said about a month.

BTW floridays, your before and after pics are amazing! Congrats, u look great!

My doctor said 4 weeks as well before going back to lifting weights or anything involving significant twisting through the abdominal area like Pilates or yoga. Swimming was out as well due to my incisions still being pretty fresh.

I was quite content with just walking. I found it was great to just go for a walk to help shift the gas pains and to take my mind off eating as the hunger started to return post op

I started walking right away after. I didn't start more strenuous exercise until doctors okay at about 3 weeks!

I was cleared at my one week post-op follow up appointment....including soaking in the hot tub also....but told NOT to do any heavy lifting for another 2 weeks.....

i guess all doctors are different

my dr said when i felt (up to walk) then i could

and lifting, he said no heavy lifting for about a month

great job on the surgery and this is gonna be your year :)

I had to wait 14 days or so, before my doctor allowed a short walk. I guess their is lots of healing going on with the body and bloating/swelling may occur. The healing process is slower when you dont eat so much as well.

Best wishes
