I just got approved for my Lap-Band today! I am so excited. Any advice out there for getting off on the right foot with it?

Congratulations! Everyone's pre-op is different, just follow your doctors' instructions. There's lots of good info out here on LBT, use what apples to you.

Best wishes on your journey!

I was banded yesterday. My doc did not require a pre-op diet. However, when I met with the nutritionist about 3-4 weeks ago, she gave me a set of guidelines to follow.....no carbonated drinkd, cut out caffeine, cut out sweets and high fat foods, drink 8 cups of Water day and make sure I got at least 50 grams of Protein a day. I did this, as well as using....myfitnesspal and restricting my calories to 1200 daily. I figured if I did these things before the surgery, it would make my life so much easier afterwards. In the process, I lost 11 pounds and have already put the caffeine and such behind me. Hope this helps, Susan

Thanks! That is great advise. I love the myfitnesspal app, I think that will work best for me. When I tell people that I can't have anymore carbonated drinks, they can't believe it. I just tell them it is gonna be worth it.
