Help! I dont know the next step

Hi all!

I'm new to this site. I just had my consultation on the 8th and today I had my psych eval today what else is there for me to do? How long does this process take? I know the expectations of the surgery. My concern is will I be denied at the end of this from my insurance? I have a BMI of 37 and have co morbid as far as hypertension... Has anybody else been denied with the same conditions?! I'm so confused and I don't want to

Waste time but at the same time I'm desperate because I've tried everything and failed. :(

The folks in the doctors office should be walking you through everything step by step. At least that is the way it was with my doctor. The girls in the office (patient advocates) told me everything I needed to do. Just give them a call and ask the same questions you are asking here. Everybody's situation is different depending on your insurance and your doctor. Hope you find the answers you are looking for.

God Bless

Insurances are very different. Some will only pay if you are above a 40 BMI. Others will pay if your below with at least 2 co morbids. Mine would not pay at all! Your next steps will be determined by your insurance company more than by your surgeon. They may have you follow a 6 month diet prior to the band. A lot of insurance companies require that. Unfortunately, you will have to wait for them to make the next move! Good Luck!

Your doctor should explain step by step what you need to do. Call them and ask. Every insurance company is different as far as what they want.
