Time Between Fills

I was banded 11/30/12. I had my first fill 12/31/12, I was wondering do I really have to wait 30 days before my next fill? My first fill didn't really give me much restriction.

It's quite common that your first fill won't give you restriction. The time between your fills is entirely up to your surgeon although many won't go earlier than 30 days because it can take several weeks before you actually feel the effects of a fill.

For example, my last fill was early November, now mid-January, I am feeling a significant difference, almost to the point of going for a slight unfill. First thing is to carefully monitor my bite-size and speed of eating to make sure that I am following the rules.

Good luck.

Strange... My doctor said I am in charge of my own fills. I have already had one and I am to tell him when I want another.

It can take up to 2 weeks for a fill to take affect. Being as this is your first fill it probably isn't going to do much for you. In general my doctor says you need to wait 3 weeks between fills. While I understand it's hard to hear this right now but it is always better to be loose then to be to tight.

my lap band surgeon prefers to fill at every 6 weeks; but he will consider it at every 4 weeks . . . but not any sooner than that.
