My surgeon will still not allow me to take them. The are more irritating to the stomach and the band. They suggest Tylenol but for me that doesn't work well so if you need to take I would suggest you

They tell you not to before surgery because they are blood thinners. Unless you were specifically told you can't post surgery for some reason, then yes, you can.

My doctor said NO. Yes they can damage your stomach lining. Also prolonged use of NSAIDS has been linked to strokes. I had a stroke at 39!!! After using a Perscription strength NSAID for a year.

Hey everyone. I'm now 3 weeks post surgery, and I know they told me prior to surgery to not use NSAIDS (ie Advil, Naproxen, aspirin, etc.). Do you think it's ok if I take some now?? I had my monthly friend come today and my arthritis has been acting up. Advil/Ibuprofen works so much better for this kind of pain then Tylenol. ???‰
