Can Not Tolerate Protein Drinks!!!!!

Hello everyone I am 9 days post op, and i just started my "mushy" phase, but I am afraid I am not getting enough protein..I simply can not tolerate the tase of protein shakes...I just got a new one in the mail this morning that i ordered from GNC, It's called VPX zero carb vanilla, so we'll see how that one taste, if not i'll return it...my question is....how is everyone mixing their protein shakes?? with water, milk ice? I need some tips on how to tolerate a protein shake..i know it sounds crazy but one serving of this protein shake is like 20g of protein I need that!!!! help me!!!!! haha

I feel for you, I went through the same thing. I tried 3 or 4 different Protein shakes before I found one that I actually liked. (some were seriously awful! lol) I really like unjury, I'm 9 months

  • I've found that mixing the Protein powder with a cup of 1% milk, then adding 1 or 2 ice cubes to the blender for mixing makes the shake ticker and helps it taste better. I use the GNC Wheybolic Extrem

  • Part of my bandster life has been to get in the habit of reading nutrition labels. If you read the amount of Protein in the Carnation product, it is lacking significantly in the type of protein bariat

On my preop I had to do the Optifast, I didn't care for the vanilla so added decaf instant coffee, made it tolerable....lots of ice and pre op, drank thru a straw because I couldn't stand the smell. Post op, sticking with optifast chocolate.

I've been using Nectar unflavored protein powder and EAS chocolate. I put the unflavored in just about everything to give a boost.
