Realize Band 10/10/12

First time on post op forum! Banded 2 pm yesterday discharged at 730 pm. Nauseas an dry heaved twice in recovery but zofran & benadryl iv fixed that. Abdominal pain of 3/10 at incision but bearable. Not much gas. My fear of anesthesia and intubation were my obstacle. Happy to be home. Sip. Walk. Repeat.

Congrats!!! I have had my Realize band for almost a year (banded 10.26.2011). It may seem hard at first, but the pain will eventually subside and you will start to learn all about how to live your new life. It takes some adjusting, but for me has been worth every moment! This website really helped me get through the first few months. So take advantage of all the experiences people share.

What is the realize band?

Realize band is owned by Johnson & Johnson,

Can u request which brand band u want? I don't want the realize band can I tell my surgeon that?

I had an option either the allergen band or the realize band! Ask your surgeon I'm sure you have the option!

Some surgeons do both, most do one or the other. My surgeon only uses the allergen band.

I thought I was getting the lap band and came out with a realize band. I was assured that it makes no difference.

I work in the hospital and I'm cool with the bariatric PA she said the lap band is more sturdy... Idk I'm just curious if other ppl heard this 2
