I'm on day 5 of my pre op diet and I'm fighting with my boyfriend. Its an argument but all I want to do right now is eat. I'm an emotional eater so this is really hard that I can no longer stuff my feelings down. He won't talk about it anymore so we can hopefully resolve the issue so I'm left to stew...I don't want to screw up my diet, but to top it off he is like” will you just eat already”? Ugh wth...

If you want to talk it out til you laugh about it im here for you! You have come waaaay to far to slip up now. I have not been banded as of yet but positive behavior reinforecement is the way to go. You dont want to start emo eating now when you are arguing. It may lead to you looking for that comfort after the band which is counterproductive..... cheer up hun. Sometimes we have to let the b.s roll off our backs and keep it moving. I fully understand what you are going through right now. *hugs* for you :-)

You can do this, boyfriend or not!!! This is about your health. Do something for YOU!!!!

If you're a little bitchy b/c of pre-op diet, he just needs to understand.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!! If you want it bad enough.

I second what Enuff_is_enuff said!! Goingforit.....you and i are both 6 days away from our surgery, this pre-op diet has been tough, not just on me but my husband and my Son is well. I'm hungry, i'm grumpy (trying not to be) and there are a lot of emotions there when you take people who are addicted to food and take that away from them for two weeks!!! The feelings are still going to be there. We need to learn how to deal with them now. This is all part of our journey. You are doing great, reaching out to this forum instead of just going to food, think about it....that's amazing!!! You are on the road to success, you got this. You have lot's of support here. I don't know what you are fighting about with your boyfriend, but I'm sure he is worried about you since it's getting close and i'm sure he wishes there was more he could do for you. My husband feels helpless becuase he knows he can't do anything about my hunger and I feel like i could chew someones arm off right now...lol. Here for you anytime!

Your BF's behavior reads as childish and manipulative...and that his goal is to sabotage your success.

Sometimes it's therapeutic to get angry... and direct that anger towards the one who deserves it. And that's not you! Eating because you are angry over the situation only harms you...

Best wishes...

Thank you all very much. I did have some sf Jello, 2 sf popsicles and a handful of grapes. I feel better now. I'm drinking my crystal light and will be going to bed. I don't know what I would do without all of your support :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
