I'm on day three...I'm doing Optifast, 6 times a day, 3 shakes, 2 bars and 1 soup (980 calories). The first day I was miserable! Since my 6 month supervised diet, I normally don't go over 1200 calories as it is but being on this pre op diet makes me want everything! Hang in there! For me it seems to be getting better and I just keep trying to concentrate on the end result. Good luck!

I am only on the 3 shakes and 2 bars.. Ugh. I know what you mean about wanting everything!! Lol ... Thanks for the encouragement! Whew

It's tough but you can make it. My doctor told me to consider every pound I lost pre-surgery is one less pound to lose post-surgery. As simplistic as that sounds it helped me stick to it though the uncomfortable times. There are other reasons of course to have that pre-surgery diet and I'm sure you have heard them. The very restrictive post-surgery diet was a breeze for me after struggling through the pre-surgery part.

Keep to it, your surgery is almost there.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!! I'm on day 7 of the pre-op diet and surgery is on Tuesday. Besides almost attacking my husband for a taco and watching my beagle morph into a burrito with 4 legs I am getting through this and you will too. I totally agree with what laughing cat said about pre-op diet helping you get through post-op diet. WE CAN DO IT!!!!

it is hard but drink plenty of water thoughout the day and try some protein every three hours. And i was able to drink how much broth i wanted. I notice hot drinks keep me fuller longer. good luck.

I'm about to start mine too, so I hope I can be as strong as you all seem to be!

Good luck to all :)

The last week will go by a lot faster hang in there your so close! We all had to do it it sucks but it's worth it. If you can get thru this the band will be a breeze! Good luck

Xoxo
