I was banded 07/09 and fortunately the surgery gas is all gone, but now every afternoon my stomach starts this gurgling (for lack of a better word) and I have really bad gas. Has anyone had this? Is this protein doing this? Is this something this will inevitably happen after surgery?

I had the exact same symptoms and my wife suggested that it may be because I drinking from a straw all day and may have been consuming extra air. I stopped drinking from a straw and a day later the gas subsided. Not sure if this is your issue, but just offering my experience. I hope it helps.

Thanks, I didn't think of that and I do drink with a straw a lot since I'm sitting in front of a computer all day, worth a try.

My doctor's office urges us to discontinue using straws. I have had a bit of gurgling now and then - usually after something was stuck passes through...it rumbles like an old boiler.

it's just part of fhe territory now...lots of gas, gurgling...all sorts of fun noises!! lol...seems to come and go...
