What Are You Doing For Exercise???

I am now at the point after surgery where the pain is very minimal and I can start doing some sort of exercise... I just don't know what to do??? I have been walking but to me that is soooo boring. I need something fun and enjoyable!!!

Any tips or workout routine would be helpful!!!!!!

  • I bought a recumbant bike and it is really working for me. I do 30-45 minutes almost every day. I DVR my favorite shows and watch TV while I'm doing it. I really like it. I am trying to mix it up with

I like to run/walk, meaning I walk and then pick landmarks along my path to "run to". I would love to one day become strong enough and in shape enough to run my entire route. However, in the meantime

Try everything! Do you have any friends that do any group exercise classes? I am not someone that likes to go to classes alone so it helps to go with a friend. Do lots of different things to see what you enjoy. The more you change up your routine the less likely you will get bored with it. I have a bike and I try to ride a couple days a week I try to swim a couple days a week and I really try to walk some every day. My daughter and I have tried all kinds of classes from Zumba to yoga and very time I finish a class I feel like I have accomplished something. Classes seem to push me to do more than I would if I was just exercising by myself. Good luck to you.

I joined my local y. M &W it's body sculpt class. T & R Zumba. Friday off. Saturday cardio fusion. Sunday off or something light like a DVD or a stretch like yoga.

Hi,

I think you must use high chair exercise ,I think so,it will be also enjoyable and I think adult high chair is available in market also.

Normally, I walk outside, as I also, find walking on the treadmill boring! I have been doing laps in an Olympic size pool, lately. Wow, you really realize how out of shape your arms and legs are after a work out in the pool. I have been concentrating on proper stroke. I like the crawl, but also, back stroke. I only swim for about 45 mins 2 x a week as I take my Grands for swim class and like to be dressed and ready for them when their 1 hr class is done.anyway, thought I would share. It is real helpful to build up leg muscles and help with those batwings!!!Karen
