Support From You Signifigant Other?
Support comes and goes. One minute I get encouraged the next (5 seconds ago) he tries shoving cheesecake in my mouth, literally. I said no and turned it away, yay me!

Advice, Long Tom. Maybe Tmi
I've had longer ones as well. It's hormone related. There's a good string on here somewhere I found where numerous people have experienced the same. It comes down to your weightless and hormone level changes

Kinda Bummed...
I was also worried about this same problem, but was banded on Jan 9th. I ended up losing 5 pounds day of surgery due to day before not allowed to eat anything. I think the advice the NP is giving is what they really would prefer, however I went into hospital morning of and yeah they weighted me but it was not a part of any decision to move forward with surgery or not. I was very stressed about not meeting the goal and also asked for advice on the topic. Bottom line, focus on doing your best and being positive about the choice you have made and how great the outcome will be. I myself can completely stress myself into a mess which causes more strain. Just breathe and if they get snippy with you...you can always snip back and explain your doing the best you can. Lots of warm wises your way!

Approval Seems A Bit Too Easy.
I had a PCP who hates the thought of WLS, my surgeon did everything for me and said your PCP is required to to the necessary presurgical tests. I went this week and had no problem, and surprisingly my PCP was nicer when she saw that I don't need her opinion to get what I know I need done. I think if you get the records ( I know I did) from all your different doctors or specialists these can be used as they will show a history of problems and comorbidities.

Approval Seems A Bit Too Easy.
I Have United Health Care HRA Choice Plus through Novartis and began in Oct. Went to nutritionist, counselor eval, hospital preop. Submitted letter for approval and had approval in about a week. Going in Monday for Surgery. UHC has many different programs but I've heard and found that it's a good one to work with. I've called and received a million different answers but my surgeon's office has had no problems at all and said it's the best one. It can be just that easy, I think unfortunately you tend to hear the horror stories more than the positive ones. Congratulations and good luck on your journey!

Pre Surgery Liquid Diet Failing - Ideas, Help?
My surgery is Monday Jan 9th and I'm on a liquid diet last week and this. Problem is I haven't lost any weight yet. It's entirely my fault, going through the holidays my "sensible meal" was larger than it should be. It wasnt that I was eating sweets, just to big of portions of what I did eat. So now of course I'm freaked out about not being able to have surgery. Does anyone have any recommendations for the time between now and Monday? The two shakes a day are covered, no brainer, but the sensible meals any ideas? Or should I honestly at this point just switch to 3 shakes a day since there is ZERO time between now and Monday. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Cheap Pre-lap Band Surgery Tips And Ideas
Hi everyone. I have my surgery date for January 9th and am pretty excited. I think I'm starting to stress about financial issues in my life and now am contemplating putting off surgery. My insurance will pay for the majority of it, if not all, but my Dr requires the Bariatric Advantage Protein to be bought through their office and I know I need to buy vitamins yet. I'm stressed about the fiancial burden at this point as every penny is keeping us from eviction or the truck being repoed. I'm sure the holidays are talking to me as well as the kids will have no presents this year and that's really getting to me. So much stress at this time of year is not helping me to calm down. I try to tell myself it could be so much worse so in my goal to keep myself up about surgery, what are your tips and tricks, ideas and insight that could help me through the pre-diet phase in a healthy and CHEAP way? At this point I can't be picky about variety and lots of options, just cheap cheap cheap! Let me know your ideas and I'll keep my strength toward looking forward to a new beginning for me and my family. Lots of love to you all!

1st consult in 2 days
Hi everyone. I've been looking at LapBand for years now. I have my first consultation Wednesday with my surgeon and I'm really excited. I have my full medical records and don't think I could prepare any more for this appointment. All records show and document discussions for weight loss with doctors since at least 1998. Even mentions wanting LapBand years ago so hopefully it will all help with the insurance approvals. Just nervous about how long everything will take. I need that edge to my health to push me to lose weight and get more active. I have a BMI of 60.1 with at least 6 co-morbidities. I'm just hoping for surgery soon. Everyone on here seems so supportive and great. Wish me luck.
