    Certain time

You just need to find what works best for you. Since you work late, what time do you eat normally? I was on a 14 day liquid only pre- op diet and I tried to just replace my regular meal with my shake. For me sticking to my normal schedule worked best for me. Good luck to you, you will do great.
  4. You are doing great! I am very happy with my progress but I am 7 months out and I have not lost 60 pounds yet. I am down 54 lbs. I had my fourth fill Dec 29th and I really feel like I am in the green zone now. I am happy for you both that you are loosing so fast.

    Had My 3Rd Fill

My 3rd fill did it for me too, good luck to you.
  6. Good luck, surgery is not bad. Just remember to get up and start walking as soon as they will let you. Walking is the best thing to get rid of the gas they fill you up with.

    Disappointed...

K6TYX I am in the same boat as you. MFP has me on 1200 cal a day and I am loosing very slow. I am going for my 2nd fill on August 9 so I am going to check with the doc to see if I should lower my daily calories. I had my surgery on June 1 an am down 26 lbs, 12 of that was from my pre op diet. I am going to drop to 1000 till I see him on the 9 th to see if it helps. I will let you know how it works for me. Feel free to add me on MFP eahalstead
  15. I am glad that I am not the only one who feels that the weight loss is slower than I expected. I have lost 26 lbs. I really wanted to be under 200 lbs by now but I am still loosing a little each week so I am happy with that. I go for my 2nd fill next week so I am hoping I get some restriction with that. My doc is pleased with my loss, he suggests loosing no more than 2 lbs per week. I think you are all doing great and you are the people that keep me going. I am so glad to have this site to "talk" to other people who are going through the same things.

    Coffee/tea

I do drink iced tea or coffee almost daily. I don't drink sodas though. I don't drink more than a glass or two so I am not worried about too much caffeine. Just like anything else, moderation is important.

    Bagels.

I just had my first fill last Monday and I tried to eat a bagel yesterday for breakfast. I took one bite and I felt terrible for about 20 minutes. It felt awful and I don't want to feel like that again so I won't be eating them anymore. Everyone is different though so if it something you really don't want to give up try to see if you can eat them toasted as others have suggested.

    Redness

Mine was done last Friday and I am still red. As long as they are not hot, seeping or you are running a fever I think they are fine. Call your doctor though if you are worried.

    Someone Noticed!!!!!!

Awesome!! Keep up the good work.
  22. My approval took about 14 days and my insurance company even requested more information. I think 14 days is an average wait. Call your insurance company and ask them how many days it takes. See if you can find out the name of the person who will make the decision and call him/her to follow up after your docs office sends everything in. Do you have to go on a pre-op diet? How far out will you need to start that is you have one? Most offices will not schedule your surgery until they have the actual approval from your insurance company.
  23. Has anyone traveled shortly after surgery? My daughter has her college orientation 3 days ofter my surgery and I would like to go with her. It is a 5 hour card ride to get to her school. I didn't know if anyone else had traveled after surgery and if so how it went for them. I will ask my doctor if I can, but I wanted to see if any of you had any suggestions if I should go with her or not. - Thanks!
  24. Everyone I have talked to seems to be eating mushie food or solid food a little more than a month after surgery. I think you should be fine by then, just remember to take small bites and chew your food alot! Good Luck to you.
