  1. Gas-x strips worked real well for me.
  2. It sounds like you need a little unfill. How many days has it been since your last fill? You might have some swelling and irritation from the fill, but if you can't get liquids down that is an issue you need to discuss with your doctor. Good luck!

  4. I can't eat too close to when I go to bed since I got my last fill because I now get some reflux. During your pre op just do your best to get your protein and calories in. When you get them in isn't that important. Do what works for you, your body and your schedule. If setting exact times to eat works best for you, do that and try to stick to it. If something comes up and gets you off schedule, do what you need to do to get by and then get back on schedule the next day.
  5. I agree, I love this time of year and I feel better when I go for a walk or a bike ride after dinner. I hope everyone is having a great day.
  6. You just need to find what works best for you. Since you work late, what time do you eat normally? I was on a 14 day liquid only pre- op diet and I tried to just replace my regular meal with my shake. For me sticking to my normal schedule worked best for me. Good luck to you, you will do great.
  7. I agree, it doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong. Chicken broth an sugar free jello an pudding got me through that phase. It will get better.
  8. Great job on loosing 80 pounds! Have you tried just riding a bike an doing non- weight bearing exercises? Water aerobics might be more comfortable for you too. I am surprised you doctor didn't give you an injection or something to relieve some of your pain. I have a friend, also in her early 40's, that gets an injection every 4-6 months to put off the knee replacement as long as possible. Her doc told her it is a short term fix and when the pain gets too bad for her she will have to have the surgery. Maybe you should get a second or third opinion.
  9. Good job on going so long and not gaining!
  10. You are doing great! I am very happy with my progress but I am 7 months out and I have not lost 60 pounds yet. I am down 54 lbs. I had my fourth fill Dec 29th and I really feel like I am in the green zone now. I am happy for you both that you are loosing so fast.
  11. Evening for me. Having an after work routine seems to work best for me. Weekends are when I try to mix it up and do different things at different times of the day though.
  12. The most important thing is to get up and walk as soon as they will let you. Walking gets the gas out fast and reduces the gas pain. Gas X strips help too, but walk as much as you can!
  13. I was on Optifast for 2weeks pre op and it was much harder than the liquids post op.
  14. I agree, find a new doctor! Don't let yourself be miserable just because your doctor was an unsupportive jerk. I drive almost 2 hours each way to see a good doctor and I can tell you, it makes all the difference in the world. A good doctor is concerned about his/her outcomes and wants to see the patients succeed and will work with you to help you through any issues you have. Good luck to you!
  15. Just set a goal for tomorrow to do everything right. Drink your fluids, eat right and do some exercise. Take it one day at a time, it will get easier.
  16. Congratulations, you are doing great! I wish I had taken pictures on the way. Today is 6 months for me and I am down 44 lbs but like you said, some days I look in the mirror and just don't see that I have lost weight.
  17. Thanks for sharing, today is 6 months for me and I am down 44 lbs. I agree that the benefits, for me, have surely outweighed the few bad days. Keep up the good work!
  18. I agree with Mis73, you need to make the band work for your life.
  19. It sounds like you are doing good with your weight loss. I was banded in June too and have only had 3 fills and I feel like I have pretty good restriction. If you feel like your in the green zone go check in with your doc and talk about it. Maybe skip the fill this time, you can always go back later and get a fill.
  20. I bought a fitbit and am really loving it. Thanks for telling me about it!
  21. My 3rd fill did it for me too, good luck to you.
  22. Can you tell me more about the fitbit. Do you use it with my fitness pal? I want one but I want to make sure it works as good as their website says before I spend the money. Thanks
